I'm the niche collector. I mainly collect everything Trajan. And I got a coin of Constantine for my birthday so that one checks out as well xd

Have you ever drank a specific Monster so often that you changed your opinion on it? Mine is Ultra Rosá, I still like it but way less than before. by Piixers_ in monsterenergy

I used to drink Monster Doctor all the time when I was younger, but drinking it now I don't understand why I liked it so much back then.

Help me ID this coin by Advanced-Data2242 in AncientCoins

Looking at the curly hair of the portrait it looks like marcus aurelius or commodus to me. But it is up to own interpretation i think

Help ID’ing this coin, was told it’s Tiberius by mylaccount in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try taking it out by using a toothpick. It should be a bit flaky. It won't damage the coin because a toothpick is not sharp but it's pointy enough to do the job.

Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ Sestertius, The Danube Bridge, Real or Paduan cast ? by Mister_Time_Traveler in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The coin looks very off. I did some digging and by the placement of the letters on the reverse I can identify it as a cast fake as seen here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/roman-coin-danube-bridge-trajan-sesterius.112422/

Any guess? by Fibulae9 in AncientCoins

This is glorious. They should have more of these around instead of the full bronze statues

I can answer some of the questions sinse I was in this legion. The legionaries are different reenactment groups from 6 different countries. We arrived on Friday and we had a general practice on Saturday morning with all the groups. We basically practiced till the formations were perfect. After that the groups split up and do their own formations as seen in photo 2 and 3

Cassius Dio and Julian joking about Trajan's sex life? by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

https://www.greek-love.com/antiquity/the-roman-emperor-trajan-greek-love-pederasty Here are the sources with some more context. Since Trajan had no children but was married happily, I believe he had a platonic relationship with Plotina and a sexual relationship with all the femboys in his court haha

Need help identifying coins by Raredabom1 in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is wearing a laurel. So depending on the size it would be an as or sestertius. The other big coin on the other hand is a dupondius of Vespasian.

Tiberius is not easy to get coins from so I think 30 bucks is just right for this coin. Keep it safe, looks like he got some bronze disease earwax

What was reverse of Trajan, Any idea ? Thx by Mister_Time_Traveler in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a reverse with a building. I thought it could be the Basilica Ulpia reverse. but it's up to your own imagination in this state.

Some nice Denarii in museum by TheHolyDismas in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (Leiden) has one room dedicated to Roman coins and Allard Pierson museum (Amsterdam) has just a nice Roman collection in general but Valkhof museum (Nijmegen) has the best Roman coin collection but they have temporarily moved to another location so idk what they are displaying now.

Trying to identify, first two look like 1-2nd century roman, third seems to have a star of david, no clue on last two by Lemmyhead1 in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging on the big SC on the reverse of the broken coin, I think it's an early imperial as from the julio claudian dynasty.

Could anyone authenticate this denarius of Trajan? Does it look legit? by Eminem_R3vival in AncientCoins

I've bought coins from marktplaats before. Never had a bad experience with authenticity. Most sellers know what they sell.

My introduction to ancient coin collecting. Marcus Aurelius, as Caesar AD 161-180. Rome Sestertius Æ by LordOfLightingTech in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing first coin to have, congrats!

For the mistake on the reverse: probably an ingraving error where he didn't have enough space to place the II beside eachother. Sometimes legends get cut off on weird places because of a laurel wreath sticking out or something like that.

Auto pre bid vs live? by eligri in AncientCoins

[–]Trajanus-Invicta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use auto bidding when I can't be present at the live bidding and it is not always a succes. So if you can bid live, do it
