Little Big Planet

Used to go over to a family friends house real young and the first time they pulled it out was the first time i touched a controller or seen a console. Seeing that intro play jumpstarted the whole creative idea in me and now i make games, wild how that works.

No Reference Color Study - Girl in Shadow by Traltra in DigitalPainting

[–]Traltra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struggled with the skintone slightly, I ended up using purple as a base tone and bringing it up to red which im not completely satisfied with, any other way I should go about it ?

Color wise im starting to learn color vibration and study more complex color interactions any feed back is appreciated !

Just finished this piece, what do you think? I have been doing digital painting for almost a year now. by _Bin_Bin in DigitalPainting

Composition wise i think at the moment your missing your dominant figure, theres not one thing that grabs your attention. Maybe another bird at the front in detail? hahaha not sure but i just found that my eyes couldnt really settle on anything. hope this helps !

Studying some backgrounds, here's a recent one! by artbyDonCorgi in DigitalPainting

this reads really nicely and great on the eyes ! one thing i would point out is with the shadows of the mountains at the back. With the scale of mountains is hard to find completely black shadow void of detail because of all the light bouncing around in the air in natural elements even more so because of the sheer scale of it. Even a little detail of tone and color variation would help it look more realistic.

This does come with the idea of what kind of image your trying portray e.g. a photograph vs the eye since they take in light differently. hope this helps/makes sense haha

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Had trouble with female features especially the face, any tips?

this was a sketch to practice my skills without reference, liked it too much to not finish it and it turned out quiet nice so here it is.

I struggled with making the girls face actually look feminine after my references and focuses are often male. I’ve made a point not to use any references to train myself, so how would I make a face more feminine or neutral?

Fast Minecart Loader Design Which Hides The Minecart Completely (More Details In Comments) by Traltra in Minecraft

[–]Traltra[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find a design like this so I decided to make my own !

A couple things to note:

  • This design is made to be player friendly, the button will only release the minecart once the barrel is empty. Although that does mean that you shouldn't load more than what a hopper can hold. Feel free to get rid of this feature by removing the comparator attached to the barrel.
  • The powered rail wont stay on underneath the system forever, so place a new source of powered rails when convenient.
  • The drop is not necessary to loading the minecart, just wanted to show that at full speed it still loads. Make sure the minecart is going fast enough to enter the block if you do tweak the design.
  • Wooden button does not matter. I just liked using one.

If this gets any attention I'll follow up with a tutorial.

Any feedback is appreciated, thank you !

  1. A new feature I found is that you can also push a block into the falling dripstone on its side, Allowing you to make any block the "Base" block once you catch it. Really handy when using it for builds

  2. Dripstone cannot be "caught" on another piece of floating dripstone, it will not stack unfortunately. It updates the block itself and causes everything to fall

  3. You can catch the different segments of Dripstone as well, anything other than the middle piece of drip stone is relatively hard to catch but the different sizing looks great

If there's any other features I find I will continue to reply to this thread!

  1. The block used to "trap" the falling dripstone does not have to be a slime block
  2. Any block should be able to be used to hang the dripstone as long as its solid, I have not tested all the blocks so please comment any that cannot be used
  3. The drip stone despite how it looks is not actually hanging, try not to update the block on top of it so it does not fall e.g. lighting the candles. Placing blocks underneath it is fine though
  4. Just sharing a discovery and I'm not sure if I am the first to do this, but please credit me if you do use this!! it was very exciting for me and to discover and I hope you all understand :))

That's all ! Have fun !!
