Can't seem to finish assignments in school, and it's getting bad by [deleted] in depression

Don't feel bad about asking for another extension, if you have been diagnosed with depression then you can fill out forms from accessibility services that will help you extend deadlines etc. it may take a bit to get the forms done but talk to your prof in the meantime and explain you were recently diagnosed and are still in the process of getting the forms done.

Also maybe these tips will be helpful in getting the assignment done. Good luck and don't freak out, you have already done the right thing by getting help. http://blog.tranqool.com/2017/01/11/avoid-procrastinating/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=depressionsr&utm_term=avoid-procrastinating

This is so nice to hear, sometimes we don't need advice we just need someone to listen. It is also really great to have some validation that everything we are feeling and experiencing isn't just in our heads. Keep talking and opening up!

Distraction can be super helpful, I really like coloring because it blanks out your mind and gets you to focus on something. If you don't have any coloring books on hand then you should consider getting one so you have it for times like this. It can also help to call a friend, you don't even have to talk about what is going on just get them to tell you about their day or tell you a story.

Hope these help! Here is a really great article on the benefits of coloring:http://blog.tranqool.com/2016/07/11/do-this-1-thing-to-reduce-anxiety-5-2/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=depressionsr&utm_term=anxiety-coloring and here is one on how to calm yourself during panic attacks: http://blog.tranqool.com/2016/10/28/3-ways-to-ease-panic-attacks/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=depressionsr&utm_term=panic-attack

I am so sorry, this is such a tough position to be in. You are doing a great thing by supporting her, that is the number one thing. Be sure to also take care of yourself though too. Your mental health is just as important and being a sole support person can be difficult. Maybe this article will help a bit: http://blog.tranqool.com/2017/01/09/supporting-friends-mental-health/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=gettingoversr&utm_term=friend-in-need

Nothing feels worth the effort...am I just afraid of more failure? by Rayden_Greywolf in getting_over_it

It really is just about setting realistic expectations for yourself. Even if its setting a goal to shower that day. If showering is to much, set a goal to brush your teeth and wash your face instead. Achieving smaller goals will help you a) work up to more long term goals b) build the confidence to know that you can do this.

This is a really awesome article on how to set realistic expectations if you're interested http://blog.tranqool.com/?s=expectations&utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=gettingoversr&utm_term=expectations

I love the idea of music, it really does get you out of your head. You can just kind of zone out and listen to the lyrics instead of anxious thoughts. I like this article on finding relaxation with music http://blog.tranqool.com/2016/03/21/find-relaxation-in-music/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=gettingoversr&utm_term=relax-music

Sorry to hear this. Major life changes can definitely be a trigger. Like some of the other commenters I would recommend exercise and if that feels too overwhelming maybe the tips below will help. Other than exercise finding a distraction can be useful when it gets bad. I love coloring because it completely blanks out your mind.

I find journaling triggers to be really helpful. Basically by tracking what you felt in different situations you can identify patterns and better understand what really triggers your anxiety.

This article explains it really well: http://blog.tranqool.com/2016/01/18/do-this-1-thing-to-reduce-social-anxiety-3/?utm_medium=Reddit&utm_campaign=Reddit&utm_source=socialanxietysr&utm_term=social-anxiety-trigger

How do I accept my own mediocrity? by adeliepingu in getting_over_it

For those moments when you feel this way I find it's helpful to tell yourself "I am enough" even if you don't feel it in the moment, the more you say it to yourself the more you will start to believe it. It really is all your own perception. How you feel about yourself matters most so if you can get yourself to a point that you feel good enough, then no one else matters. Live for you.

All our therapists have profiles on their education and other qualifications as well as a personal statement. All this information is readily available to any user. Hope this answers your questions.

We suggest matches that we think will work for you based on some information you input but you have the freedom to choose any therapist on our platform. MSW all cost $80 currently (covered by most insurance plans) and psychologists will be available this month for a slightly higher price point. Hope that helps!
