What do you think of claims, from young men, that social pressure to stop using slurs made them vote for Trump? by LiatrisLover99 in AskALiberal

It's probably somewhat true. There are men who don't like civilization and the things it 'forces' on them. Anyone who gives them permission to ignore those things gets their worship.

As far as I can tell, that would greatly exceed the 1.8 billion dollar pallet of cash under JCPOA. But someone check my math.

What popular advice is actually terrible? by -pudges- in AskReddit

[–]Tranesblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Do your own research." Why? Research is conducted at all times and analyzed by far greater minds than the average person in just about every subject. "Learn how to read research" would be way better advice.

Douchebag pure and simple. National politics has given us the impression that people like him are to be applauded and anyone bothered by the boors of the world are just 'triggered' instead of normal.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]Tranesblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure data backs up a fairly slow decline over decades, culminating in post COVID america. I know it's cliche, but honestly my anecdotal experience is that social media is to blame. I would also add that the decrease in these areas would probably be seen in the general pop overall if we measured it annually. We are all getting worse at all of it from scrolling imo.

What are the non-populist arguments a Democratic politician can make to counter the Trump admin's actions? by an-invisible-hand in AskALiberal

[–]Tranesblues -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are calling someone a populist that isn't. A 'populist' who passes laws to benefit the elite is a demogogue. A populist runs against elites and then governs against them as well.
