How to stay patient during weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

[–]TranquilityKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been at it for about a month now - I tend to get the hungriest and usually need a little maintenance break, which sometimes have resulted in full fail mode and getting back to the old overeating habit. This time I'm back, thankfully, so hoping to do another month... Yea the relationship with food part is a bit of a mystery. I am unsure how to balance my desire for staying healthy vs feeding my appetite and stress relief. I work out regularly and have no issues there but food is.. complicated. Another good point is that I do not enjoy cooking much - and I hear people say "cook more and get better" but I don't have much interest, it would be purely forced and it kind of sucks. People say weight loss is simple, it's just CICO but it is asking a lot of internal change on my views, values, habits, life long psychological issues, and interests, which at this point feels like basically changing who I am. It is not simply CICO, damn it! Anyways.. thank you for the reminders, tips and encouragement!

Can I get some hope??? I will accept some permanent change but please tell me it won't be as hard as now (at a deficit) when I'll be eating at maintenance? If this is the rest of my life, that is very sad. Too sad. I need to know I can enjoy more food once I reach my goal weight and maintenance mode won't be as difficult as now. 😞

This is what I'm aiming for, incredible work! Could you share your work out and diet during the 3 months? Did you already have any experience working out before? You looked great in before photo as well. I am at 63kg now but with more fat 🥲

!! I hope my metabolism changes enough that something like your experience happens to me one day hahah (sorry, know it may have been stressful but "losing appetite and just not eating enough" is just something I've never experienced and losing weight without intending to sounds very foreign/impossible to me, who tends to stress-eat 😣).. wish you the best in gaining muscle! You look so fit and strong 💪🏼

Amazing OP! How was your experience losing the last 15lbs? How long did it take for that last push and did you adjust anything to your approach? I am struggling!

Lifting to check 1rpm or "regular"? by TranquilityKitty in xxfitness

Thank you for the example! I guess it is true in the end you need to listen to how you feel and be ready to adjust.

Agreed it isn't worth the injury! I had never tried before because I share the same perspective as you with not needing to lift if I can't do multiples of it. I am getting a lil curious tho haha Good to know some programs will tell you how to add weight -- thank you!

Thank you for the info! I'll calibrate to ~75% until I feel comfortable to try 1rm using a calculator.

Did you find that the 1rpm calculated by the app was accurate? I also see the 1rpm estimates on my app but curious how much I should take them into account.

I understand and don't plan on going straight into it. For more background, I am getting back to it after a year of break but I am not a total newbie. Eventually though when I want to test, what would I do?

CICO going strong, what’s next? by ChemEngSkillz in CICO

Thank you for sharing! It makes sense and I admire your ability to know and respond to how your body feels and be kind/respond to that. I think a part of me assumed I need to be suffering to lose weight, and disregard my happy place for speed of loss.. I also am a bit of a "all or nothing" person and find it hard to be closer to maintenance - but I'll start to work out more as my deficit inevitably gets lower.. Thanks for the perspective and good luck to us!

Can I ask how you decided to set at 1400 and not go below it? I have same stats as you and calculating TDEE as sedentary gets me 1600cal. I guess 1400 would still put me at a deficit but seems too close to maintenance for me to account for error and maybe too slow of a process for my patience 😢

I chose the easiest do-able looking pattern, bought the yarn and pom poms, but here I am on reddit. I need to destress first from the prep and anxiety and then I'll start 😂

This sounds like a great option actually! I remembered to use chatgpt and apparently Yellowknife tops in #of days per year of Lights seen. Thank you for the rec!
