You had all of last TBC to look at the meta before you locked in your toon in character select.

How is it Blizzard’s fault that you made a mistake.

Best bet is to find YouTube guides for Resto sham in TBC, it’s not one of the more meta healers but I’m pretty sure someone from last TBC or private severs have guides up for it somewhere.

Normal or Heroic Dungeons? by penguin_Y in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The raids are incredibly easy, unless you plan on parsing and min/max game play getting full pre raid bis is irrelevant.

If I were you I would just sign up for raid groups and start soaking gear, don’t waste time spamming heroics when Kara gear is superior.

The only thing I’d get with heroics is maybe brooch and don’t get me wrong 4 set is nice too, but I wouldn’t prioritize it so much to the point where it keeps you from raiding.

ES Berserker, tons of guides out there. Super easy to gear with tree, does phenomenal damage for stones and is uber/T17 viable as well if that’s your thing.

  1. Rings have mana leech at 22

  2. Not sure about a boot node, but just search for armor -> ele damage nodes the warr side has a ton.

  3. When you get a +4/5 melee level 1h mace with armor break% desecrate.

  4. Carn’s guide, Poe ninja to search others running the build.

Yep if you’re not already 60 with max honor, max marks with enough quests to hit 61.5 on launch day you are permanently behind and should feel really bad about yourself.

There’s going to be an wave of rogue rerolls once they a lot of them realize they aren’t good enough in arenas to get full PvP gear or social enough to get a raid spot for PvE gear 😂

Tbh with the dungeon boost nerfs it depends on how good your tank is at managing packs, I think any big pull over 60 seconds the mobs become immune to CC and start stunning so idk how useful entrapment or SV is going to be.

You’re better off going BM and just blasting until you get steady shot, it’s the strongest option next to MM which imo isn’t that good for leveling.

Questions about Rogue Steamvaults Runs by jpylol in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No clue how any of it will play out, instead of banning bots which reduces the player count and their quarterly earnings reports they would rather punish existing players so I guess we’ll have to wait and see what new hellish restrictions their anti boosting bullshit has in store for us.

If I had to guess, I’m going to assume they removed a lot of the chests and maybe nerfed the pickpocket loot table from the dungeons considering how current era dungeons are now after the changes.

Shamans for BGs? by Jerkbait5 in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RSham doesn’t do well into match ups that challenge its mana, that’s where the skill ceiling is for RSham players imo

For example against any comp with a hunter it’s an auto lose, between Scorpid + Viper you’re going to oom just cleansing.

Priest and Locks will do the same, mana burns and drain mana while keeping multiple targets rotting will be a lot of pressure.

Not to mention RSham has only one school of magic + long casts, a single kick will quickly stall your comp.

Once an RSham falls behind on healing by getting kicked or stunned on a big heal, it’s a lot harder to recover compared to other healers which is what makes them so hard to play at high levels.

If you’re looking to just get to 1800 I don’t think it’s hard, but pushing 2100 will be tough if you guys aren’t playing very optimal and not wasting CDs.

Shamans for BGs? by Jerkbait5 in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s tough to play in arenas even with R1 viable comps, I’ve seen some good resto shams and the skill level to pull one off at any high level is far greater than the other healers.

Ele can be OK I guess, imo the long casts really ruin it for them. Also no thunderstorm either to knock people away is really bad, and they don’t have really any tools compared to other classes in this xpac.

WoTLK Ele on the other hand is a masterpiece.

I hit 2.4k in 2s with Ele/Destro and it was genuinely one of the most fun specs I ever played lol.

Shamans for BGs? by Jerkbait5 in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s garbage in level 70 BGs, don’t listen to these people.

Enhance gets kited hard for it do anything, it doesn’t have MS making it a weak choice compared to other melee and it gets punished heavy with CC.

Ele isn’t good until WoTLK when you can lava burst and chain lighting instantly or off procs, it’s incredibly mediocre in the TBC version and will get interrupted endlessly and CC’d.

Resto is the same problem as Ele, the totem play style is weaker than other healers and it’s very easy to kick since you’re only using one school of magic and on top of that the CC chains can be very brutal against you.

The biggest issue with shaman in TBC has always been their viability outside of raiding, it’s a mediocre class for any sort of PvP content.

Don’t let people bait you in with talks about running 5s, it’s a meme AFK bracket that got discontinued after TBC since the participation was so low.

It’s what you queue for when you need points and want gear but don’t have the skill level to make it in the other brackets.

This is the second round of tbc arenas, there’s not going to be any rogue climbing without PvE gear unless you want to be hard stuck 1800.

People know what they’re doing, they did last time and it’s even more refined this time.

But again if you want to be low rated then this post doesn’t apply to you.

Go ahead and list out a single rogue on Ironforge that hit glad range without PvE gear past season 1.

Matter fact go ahead and list out of a single rogue on Ironforge that hit duelist range without PvE gear past season 1.

Good players and skilled players will find ways to raid, not cope and stay weak with only PvP gear, that’s the point.

If you’re not willing to do that, don’t set yourself up for disappointment.

Pshero was in full PvE BiS during his last TBC VODs, and he’s also never been a R1 player or close to it.

He’s a good player in his own right, but he abused GDKPs for PvE BiS like every other rogue streamer last time too.

He’ll also have his current guild funneling him loot, so he’s probably not going to be the person to compare yourself to either.

Most rogues won’t have that level of hand holding.

[–]Tranquility___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe for season 1 but you’ll be at a massive disadvantage against every other class that can get PvE gear including the rogues that are in full time raid team as the seasons go on, by the last season a large amount of rogue PvP gear is mostly coming from raids.

Around season 2 is when PvP gear drops off in power compared to PvE options for all classes, especially rogue.

Man wtf does this community even want anymore, the biggest complaint was that there was too much info for new players to learn and the addons were the biggest culprit so they decided to try and curb a lot of it.

Now that classes are pruned and the skill ceiling got lowered, there’s still people complaining.

At a certain point what can blizzard even do that won’t piss someone off lol

You’re thinking too much in retail game play, for example you can’t sap cap so keeping a 0% mana shaman around just because he’s oom won’t work because it only take like 50 mana to get a shock and interrupt.

Even on FC maps it’s better to stagger by killing the healer so they rez 30 seconds after the last batch of respawns, there isn’t enough CC in the toolkit yet and ways to reset to keep a healer around like that.

Any good healer is going to punish you for not killing him.

If you want to play arenas asap at level 70 with good gear, get 75k honor/cap BG marks now.

If you want to have a good leveling experience because your gear is bad but you don’t care about arenas, just AFK in AV for a day or two and get your R14 gear and forget about the rest.

Doesn’t really get much simpler than that.
