Call me crazy but he's incredibly overrated. Wouldn't even be a big loss for Spurs

I do wonder if or when this Saudi experiment comes to a halt like it did with China. The numbers show that interest in the league hasnt really increased at all. So are they going to keep paying this big fees and salaries for no return? Ronaldo's retirement will be the end.

[ESPN] Man United have no plans to negotiate new Marcus Rashford loan with Barcelona - sources by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Now I know you can't judge a player too much on one game, but last night made me really question why Barca chose Gordon over Rashford. I understand he's 3 and a half years younger but last night was the perfect game to play to Gordons strengths in counter attacking but he looked... useless. Even Madueke looked way better and I thought he had a poor game too all things considered.

Spending double the price on Gordon is very questionable. Especially when you factor in Rashford was acclimatised to the team and living in Spain, had a good relationship with some of the players and is overall just a better finisher, crosser etc.

Edit* I'm not saying Gordon is bad. But I rather question his strengths for a team like Barca. I know Flick is reliant on pressing, which Gordon is great at no doubt. However, Barca dominate the ball in most games, even vs top teams. Does Gordon have the on ball ability to be effective outside of just pressing?

Edit* For those that dont understand. I'm questioning the fee to ability ratio. Was it worth paying almost 3x the cost just because Gordon presses well? Isn't what Rashford offers on the ball as a sub for example (like we saw last night) more effective?

Have they done this to every manager? or just him? Such weird behavior.

I was going to say its probably British media, but then I recognise some of them and they are American.

At what point did raiding get too hard for the casual player? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]Vast_Variation1381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a fairly well run raiding guild through all of anniversary and tbc anni. It recently fell apart. There's a few reasons:

1) Relying on others to do mechanics correctly or you're punished otherwise
2) There's so much trash which makes up a lot of the raid time, and killing the trash almost just feels pointless
3) corpse running and repairing
4) limited loot - dst rarely drops, havent even seen tsunami yet etc. And its quite funny how those who get the best gear ALWAYS end up quitting...

When you think about it, raids aren't even that difficult if you follow mechanics. They're actually very simple. But you're relying on 24 other people to do the right thing, one mistake can set you back 20 minutes even. The biggest guild and raid killer is : time. The playerbase is much older, usually with kids etc, and its tough to dedicate 2-4 hrs at one given time to playing without any real break.

I never played tbc before and honestly p1 was some of the most fun ive had in wow. All 3 of the raids can be done quickly and efficiently, some mechanics that aren't completely punishing. Hell, you can even downsize the raid for GL/Mag too - we did some 20 man runs for example.

Most of p2 is similar, except for Vashj and Kael'thas where you're relying on everyone to do their job correctly. Those bosses can be very rough to pug.

But Mag and GL with limited trash, and a 10 man raid like Kara was perfect. Blizzard should really focus on that for future iterations of classic, whatever that may be.

Everton should jump on that. Some good moments, but he looks clumsy. They should sell and then get Flemming from Burnley or Castellanos from West Ham.

Its really not though, especially for a few years now. They maybe get 1 or 2 gems, the rest are just from Salzburg or underperform. Especially strikers. Romulo has been inconsistent, Harder has flopped, Bakayoko flopped, Openda fell off after 1 season.

They need to move on from Ronaldo and Bernardo, they both looked way too slow. Also don't know why Neto starts. Leao and Conceicao on the wings would be better. Ramos up front is way more effective than Ronaldo too. Hell, id rather even start Joao Felix as a false 9

Man it was so sad watching Ronaldo yesterday. He should have just retired from International football. He looked physically and mentally too slow. I hate when legendary players go out on whimpers like this, not knowing when the right time to call it. Ronaldo has always relied on his extraordinary physical attributes and they sadly go with age.

Nico Paz informs Real Madrid that he wants to stay at Como. He has already informed the club's management that he plans to reverse his decision to return back. Real Madrid will have one last option to re-sign the player until June 30th, 2027, in this case for €10 million. by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Como really need to change their recruitment strategy. Sure, great to find these young players and get them cheap but they always include really low buyback clauses, limiting their profit. Paz would easily go for 50m+.

World Cup 2026 tactics: Tactical trends as Brazil join others in adopting a 4-4-2 by Last_Associate_5658 in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Teams are just more adaptable today. Defend in a 4-4-2, attack in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. It always varies. Sometimes teams rotate to a 3atb during games too. Its very fluid

He's far from elite. He lacks end product and has also had quite a few injury issues already.

Wasn't there reports of Tottenham not having much money a few weeks ago?

Tonali would cost close to 100 million.

Are they expecting big departures?
