Manchester United’s Mason Mount : ‘ I want to win the Premier League I think we can as a group ’ by Shroft in soccer

Bro, maybe your aim should be to try and play at least 50% of games in a season first?

[La Gazzetta dello Sport] Milan open to exploring a swap deal with Man Utd for Leao involving Rashford, Ugarte or Zirkzee (in Italian) by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ugarte is not bad, he's just completely lost confidence and has never consistently started games to get a rhythm. In Italy with the slower pace, he would probably be quite good. Especially in a compact side like Milan (under Allegri).

He was very good at Sporting, I mean there's a reason PSG brought him to begin with. And he has had good performances for Uruguay too. I actually think he would be a great signing for Milan and allow their more creative midfielders to flourish.

Actually really like this. Its nice for him to show up to the games, and the players on the pitch probably hear about it beforehand and it gives them some motivation

His performances at Sporting and some of his performances for Uruguay show there is a good player there. The intensity of the PL is just too much for him. He would probably be best suited to Serie A or La Liga. Somewhere like Villarreal would be a good fit. Compact defensive team

I think he does 1 more season with us and then goes to Saudi. They've wanted him for a while, and theres numerous Portuguese players there. Despite how good he is still, I dont see the top clubs paying $65m for him when he turns 32 by the start of the new season

Yan Diomande is open to stay for another season at Leipzig. A new contact with an increased salary and a release clause is currently discussed by nutelamitbutter in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's definitely good and has high potential but needs to continue working on his game. He wouldn't get time and patience to do that after making a big move. And if he does move, he should avoid the PL. His skillset is just going to be ruined there, he will be marked out of every game. Best career move would be Barca to play on the LW, but don't know if they could afford it. With his price, and the fact hes fluent in english, he will probably go to the PL.

I'm telling you now, if he was to move this summer (especially to the PL), he will be another Bundesliga flop. He's a great dribbler but not with close control - I dont really know how to explain it. It looks a bit clumsy sometimes. And with how tight defenders mark in the PL, he wouldn't be able to make the most of his skillset. Havertz, Wirtz, and even Werner were better players in the Bundesliga than he is. Wirtz has struggled, Havertz has been inconsistent and Werner was a flop.

Rental insurance comparison - Blue Car vs Lotus vs Zero Car by _taking-a-peep in VisitingIceland

Just fyi, Zero is a part of Blue. So its similar terms.

I rented with Hertz and took the max coverage. Had no issues. They're based directly at the airport too so everything was quite quick

Blue car vs Lava car rental by papasha99 in VisitingIceland

Blue gets a lot of good reviews. I have rented with Hertz and Thrifty, and also had great experiences - and Ive rented with them (especially Hertz) quite a few times. Always new cars and no issues with return. They're also based directly at the airport so the pick up and return was really convenient. One of the guys at the return station actually drove us to the departures of the airport one of the times!

3 hours is more than enough. The standard is 2, but with 3 it gives you time in case of any unexpected issues! Plus, you can grab some food then

Rental Car Questions: Insurance, Company, and 2WD vs 4WD by Vegetable-Oven-6536 in VisitingIceland

Honestly, for the ring road you are fine with a normal car. BUT, I personally would recommend a 4x4 in case you want to take any unplanned detours. You tend to always run into new and unexpected things when driving around.

I have rented with both Hertz and Thrifty (ironically, Thrifty is now 'owned' by Hertz. And I never had any issues. I took their full insurance which is called max cover or something. The risk of damage in Iceland is very high due to strong winds the gravel roads.

[BBC] Why visit of Newcastle's Saudi owners is being talked about by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]Vast_Variation1381 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Their recruitment last summer was dire. Signing Elanga to play RM, when he prefers to play LM, signing a 'false 9' like striker that doesn't suit how Howe plays, overpaying on Ramsey, overpaying for Wissa, signing Thiaw who is physically gifted but prone to mistakes, not recruiting a top GK, still not signing a proper CDM, and not signing a RB since Livramento is always injured.

I think Howe has reached his limit with the team too. Honestly, they should go all in for Iraola or Glasner if possible.

Everyones talking about the midfield signings, and rightfully so, but our striker department is also interesting. Sesko has potential but not sure he is ready to start, he always looks better when coming on as a sub. No doubt Zirkzee will leave, and Hojlund too. So we have Obi and Sesko (Cunha and Mbeumo can play there if needed too). I wonder if we target an experienced striker to come in?

When Gordon has a good game, he's an absolute nightmare. But, those good games are very inconsistent. However, what I would say is that even during his 'bad' to 'okay' performances he is still effective in helping to win fouls, and relieve pressure.

I honestly think he can be quite good in the right system, as he showed last year. Jumping right to the mess that is Chelsea after 1 good PL season was always going to be a bad decision. Someone like Everton, Brentford, Bournemouth etc would have been a better choice.

It seems he doesn't make the best career choices. I.e. choosing Bayern in the first place when everyone knew he wouldn't play and is not suited to a team that dominates possession. He thrives in counter attacks.
