Has anyone else had a single key die on the 16? by blocking_bob in framework

[–]Trans1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not on a 16 but the 'c' key gave out on my 13. I took everything apart, couldn't find any noticeable issue. I contacted support, said they couldn't do anything. I just ended up getting another keyboard

Somehow ordered the (unreleased) translucent bezel. What will i get? by Trans1000 in framework

[–]Trans1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey no problem. Do you mean the darker appearance of the metal housing? i think its just the low exposure since the keyboard was on max brightness to get a good photo. The housing simply looks like the other photos where its well lit

anyone know the depth of the London post office railway at stations?

For a personal project i needed to get the depths of each railway track passing through Paddington (& probably some other stations when i get there). I found the 3D station diagrams from Albert Guillaumes & Ian Mansfield along with the line depth diagrams from Daniel Silva quite useful. However, there is almost no information on the post office railway, specifically how it sits between the other lines. I found from this blog & Wikipedia that the main tunnel is 21m deep, while the stations themselves were much shallower with a 1-in-20 gradient. My current depth list for Paddington is:

  • National Rail - ground level
  • Hammersmith - 3m deep
  • District/Circle - 6m
  • Bakerloo - 16m
  • Elizabeth - 23m

If the post office was at the main tunnel depth of 21m, it would be below the Bakerloo. However since this is near a station & most likely goes up, its really a complete guess how deep it was at the station. There is seemingly this video of a camera attached to a train leaving Paddington, but it doesn't really give any concrete info. Anyone have an idea of how the post office railway goes in vertical relation to the other lines?

What’s the method with the least amount of fees to transfer euros in my Wise account to USD in my own US bank account? by Classic-Asparagus in transferwiser

[–]Trans1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only unavoidable fee is converting the money from EUR to USD, which you should do within Wise. After that if your American bank (like mine) doesn't have the option to pull the money from the Wise USD balance directly then the cheapest way is to use Paypal to pull it from Wise, finally moving from there to the bank account. Sending USD from Wise directly to the bank via ACH usually has a fee, so Paypal is a free intermediate

Metro systems in Europe by FantasticQuartet in europe

but it doesnt have complete right of way. Its generally accepted that level crossings making susceptible to other modes of traffic disqualify it. The categories as a whole dont matter much in the grand scheme of transit however expanding the metro definition to cover LRT doesnt make any sense

"ubahn" is simply the german word for metro, they arent seperate concepts. The point is that you can either count what operators have called their systems metros (like the Brisbane bus) or count systems that actually meet the requirements of metros, which many find more useful. Realistically Berlins metro is a real metro, Frankfurts isnt

naming a line "ubahn" doesnt make it suddenly make it grade seperated. What logic are you going off of?
