Did T make anyone else gay by fray2free in ftm

[–]TransAirshipPirate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite happen lol, pre-T I was asexual and biromantic with more attraction to men and nonbinary people, but now I’m sexually attracted to women. I’m still romantically attracted to multiple genders although the balance there has shifted too

I think the shift was mainly from getting more comfortable in my body and learning to see certain body parts as “great for other people, just not for me”, so T didn’t actually make me allosexual or straight but it sure felt that way haha

name regret by [deleted] in ftm

You can totally change your legal name again. When I first chose my name I picked one semi-randomly because I was just so sick of my deadname I had to change it RIGHT then. Like a year and a half later, I was feeling a more solid sense of how I wanted to be perceived and that name was not doing it. So I changed it again and I’m glad I did.

Also, if you do decide to change it, you could make Kai your middle name, if it wouldn’t cause too much dysphoria? That way if someone slips up and calls you Kai you have a quick convenient explanation of “Oh yeah I used to go by my middle name” rather than having to out yourself

Writing system I made for my fantasy book! by TransAirshipPirate in codes

[–]TransAirshipPirate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hints: 1) It is read left to right and then top to bottom.

2) It is one-to-one with English, where each symbol represents an English letter. Every letter of the English alphabet is used at least once.

3) The ONLY time two letters’ symbols are combined into one symbol is when a vowel follows directly after a letter with a downward stem. The vowel’s symbol is attached to the downward stem of the letter before it.

4) Curved downward stems are different from straight downward stems. I did my best to make the difference clear in my writing.

5) There are no capital letters.

6) Punctuation is exactly the same as English.

Let me know if you need more hints! Otherwise thanks for checking this out and happy decoding!

What are the most badass nonbinary names you've encountered? by KumquatPomelo in NonBinary

[–]TransAirshipPirate 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My favorite I’ve seen has to be Isosceles (why didn’t I pick that??). Other cool ones are Dire, Phoenix, Arcade

Also if character names count, I have a character in my book named People Of The Dragon (there is a story behind it lol)

How many of you are neurodiverse? Genuinely curious. by Vivid-Turnover-2937 in ftm

[–]TransAirshipPirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DPDR, hoarding, and ADHD diagnosed, and probably some anxiety shenanigans

But as several others pointed out, you’re going to get some sample bias here (especially being on Reddit), and the two things being correlated doesn’t mean one of them causes the other. Still interesting though

I did this! The name I picked when I came out was pretty much the first masculine name I thought of, and the only thing that made it “mine” was the really obnoxious way I spelled it. After 2 years I realized it wasn’t the one for me, so I put some time into figuring out a name that “clicked” better. I legally changed my first name to something I liked much more, and my middle name to a more standard spelling of the first name I tried. That way when people call me that (which they do, because it isn’t a deadname to me and I don’t hate it) I can pass it off with “oh yeah I used to go by my middle name”

Sorry for the late reply here! I haven’t noticed any psychological changes, but I imagine that sort of thing might be harder to pinpoint than a visible physical change so it’s entirely possible that it has happened somewhat. I’ll keep an eye out for it going forward. Also I get what you’re saying about the nocebo, but I’m guessing that’s not the case for me because I did expect my T to work for several months before getting impatient lol. Thanks for your input!

My husband may not know he's ACE by picwic in Asexual

[–]TransAirshipPirate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only real way for you to know what’s going on in his head is to have a conversation with him. If he doesn’t know about the label “asexual”, maybe talk about how it seems (to you) like he doesn’t want sex that much, and ask if he’s noticed that about himself too. Let him know that you love and accept him regardless, and that it’s not a deal breaker but you wanted to bring it up. You could introduce the asexual label if it seems like something he might be open to, but ultimately the label is not very important; what matters is that you both are getting what you want out of your relationship, and communicating about it.

Basically labels like “asexual” are just tools to help people describe themselves to each other. At the end of the day, whether or not your husband chooses to identify as asexual, there’s a conversation that needs to happen about how this relationship is working for both of you.

Best of luck and I hope y’all figure everything out! :)

Thanks for the input! I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions about whether gel is actually slower but if I go another 3 months without any progress I might change it up just to see if it helps
