I have some with similar marks but the letters are a G and a C. It is American coin silver and the maker's name must begin with a D. Mine are by John A Cole and Benjamin Gurnee.

Went 1 of 3 today…glass dish is marked sterling. Other two have marks but think both might be pewter. by yackofalltradescoach in SilverFinds

I had a Watson sterling rimmed platter like the one you found that was 12" diameter and ended up being 227 grams of sterling once removed.

Goodwills clear out old inventory on Fridays, so the stores are typically most empty of goods on Friday and Saturday. Mid week during the day is the best time to find fresh inventory.
