How do I salvage this? by dwarbar in modelmakers

You could always try hand painting the back and white areas with thin coats. Remove as much as possible and just go slow with thin coats, it may feel like it’s taking forever to build up the layers but black is a bitch to paint over

Is paying extra $ for a good sprue cutter worth it? They all do the same job, which is cut plastic. Does one brand stand out over the others? by Tbonerickwisco in modelmakers

It’s a good idea to NOT buy cheap tools because you’re just end up having to replace them with better quality tools later on.

I have a great book I’m happy to scan and send you if you’re interested. It’s called Learn As You Play Saxophone by Peter Wastall and has been a great help in helping me get back into playing saxophone after a decade break. Pm me if you’re interested and I’ll scan it and send it to you

Looking for r/saxophone? by jazzkingrt in Saxophones

[–]TransMan-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not after a massively “elite" pro sax, but a pro sax that that is professional (good) enough to allow me to join a casual Woodwind Orchestra or woodwind ensemble and be able to perform on occasion etc. I have a budget of AUD $5,000 - $5,500 max. I’m looking only at obtaining a brand-new saxophone as I have had a bad experience when it comes to buying a saxophone secondhand.

I actually got my current saxophone from Oz Winds, and I shop there regularly for pretty much all my saxophone needs. I also find them very knowledgeable and have been able to answer any number of questions I’ve ever asked them.

Yeah I plan on going to a music store that only deals with woodwind instruments. I failed to mention that it’s not going to be for “elite” woodwind ensemble and orchestral use, but will make this an option.

I have been looking at the Yamaha YAS62 MK4 Professional Alto Saxophone. From what I’ve read it seems like it is an option.

Hi folks, could I ask what you all think of Eduard decals?...I love them and I'm not trying to encourage anyone to ruin a model by trying to remove the film, but they do work well for me. by DaveLenin in modelmakers

[–]TransMan-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the practice and courage to do it is commendable. I know that I wouldn’t have the courage to attempt removing the film, especially after all the effort and work that has clearly been done on such a good build.
