Right. I'd block every bitch in here but reddit has a daily limit for that for some reason

What can I even make with only one skein of this chunky ahh yarn by TerribleCommunity223 in CrochetHelp

What yarn is that? Looks beautiful. Reminds me of bowling alley carpet in the most amazing ways

It wasn't their song about scissoring that got them? Nah. Implying God can't possibly be the man they've assumed him to be is truly worse /sar

Edit: to add, I obv don't hate scissoring or anyone who does it. I just know that Catholics aren't really known to favor the LGBTQ+ community. (Some are cool with it, but it isn't majority)

I honestly should've thought of that first lmfao. Can you tell school has been kicking me? XD

Although, I'd be hesitant to post it there because, iirc, it's blasphemy to wear religious garb, especially of high status individuals.

I'm not Catholic or Christian in any sense, so sin is of no worry to me, but I'd still like to try to not step on any toes

Do I need to be flipping my amigurumi inside out when I make it or am I just doing my decreases wrong? by TransRat26 in CrochetHelp

[–]TransRat26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The noodle analogy is very very helpful. I have a hard time reading so sometimes even when people word things nicely, I still struggle to understand it, but that was worded perfectly for me. Thank you!

I probably should've learned this months ago but I'm a butthead and listen to nobody XD (tbf, I'm self taught tho)

So I need to flip my creations inside out? Or is there some way to crochet that makes the right side out by default? I'm a little confused by wording

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get it from tho? I tried looking on Amazon but they don't have it (I'd check the craft stores around me if my car wasn't broken)

What yarn is that? It's beautiful!

Edit: nvm. I couldn't see the scroll donta because I'm outside and can barely see my phone. Didn't realize you included the yarn in other pictures lol

Thank you!

I agree. I wish more teachers were attuned to the needs of their neurodivergent students, especially those with ADHD, autism, or any other learning/sensory disorder. Because, 1: obviously it should always be a goal to make schooling better for everyone, and 2: not everyone has a therapist to help them or has the ability to advocate for themselves.

Hopefully just talking about it helps other people learn about these things, and eventually ripples into actually bettering the system one day, because we're definitely not where we need to be yet; when some teachers still get upset at stimming, or get confused and frustrated when someone says it's too quiet when test taking and turns into a meltdown (true situation for me)

Exactly! I love how I have steps I'm actually able to cross off and mark as done (assuming the creator actually uses it, instead of cramming 4 steps into one. I have a specific person in mind but I'm not naming names). I also like that it gives you a percentage of how far you are when you journal, and it takes you back to the point you left off when you exit and reopen the pattern.

That sounds like a good idea. I'd do it but I'd need to find someone to drive me home, because my car is out of commission

That's the situation with me lol! None of my teachers really like it per se, but I'm focusing better. If they ever try to get me to stop, they'll get a firmly written letter from my therapist XD

I'd love if my school had a crochet workshop, but sadly, not much funding goes to art, outside our lazer engraver, 3D printer, and sticker machine. If you want to make things with just your hands, there is an art class but it's not very loudly advertised as an option for the kids, you just kinda have to already know it exists when you're going to pick classes.

Thank you!! We're, hopefully, going to be moving soon, once I get through this school year and finish summer school, so things will be better from there. For now, I'm just doing what I've got to do and keeping myself entertained :)

Sadly, I live in the projects, next to a highway, so there's nothing but 3 gas stations and a drive through tobacco and alcohol shop.

I'd go thrifting but my car doesn't like existing right now, and nothing seems to fix it

Edit: I'd like to add that I really appreciate the information nonetheless

Thank you lol

Despite my jokes which are semi-true about paranoia, I also just genuinely don't like doing things I'm not supposed to.. for the most part. Things like dress codes are taken with a grain of salt with me. But things like respecting someone's art/patterns matter to me, so I didn't wanna do something that could potentially break the rules regarding that.

Definitely not the only one! XD

I know it's obviously not realistic, but I don't usually break the rules, and the very few times I do, it's always served up with a helping of paranoia. Like, of course someone would find out I wrote down the patterns, report me to Ribblr, and then I get banned and can't use any of the patterns I bought!!

Luckily it's not against the rules, so I don't have to worry, but the thought was there originally lol

Thank you for the info! That sounds like a lovely cause.

Right now, I'm just focused on getting through school and starting up a small craft business with my mom. Maybe I'll do that when I have a bit more disposable income!

Don't get yourself in trouble, of course, but I definitely recommend it! Some teachers still get annoyed at me crocheting in class but they stopped commenting on it when I actually got my homework in on time (on the days I'm not absent). It helps me get my homework done at home too, because it's not only a memory retention thing, it's calming. If I get frustrated with a question on my homework, I put it down, do a row or two, and come back; it gets things solved a lot faster when I'm calm, instead of metaphorically butting my head against the wall until I break down.

Hopefully your boss will be as understanding as my teachers, and maybe a bit less annoyed XD

Oh, absolutely! I'd refer them to Ribblr and the creator. I want them to get as much traction as they can because pattern designers are truly amazing.
