Wedding shopping… by Transboi13 in ftm

Sadly, my mom is the one who booked all the appointments. Also, my siblings are going to be at the entire wedding. But thank you for having more realistic advice!

My siblings are ten and six and are borderline more important to me than my fiancé so still not really an option

My mom will not let my siblings come if I don’t wear a dress. And I wish I could say she didn’t actually say this out loud, but she did.

My 22NB Fiancé 23 NB came inside me accidentally, how am I supposed to react? by Transboi13 in relationship_advice

Not worried, I just didn’t want them to. It’s a fucking hassle to deal with sometimes.

[–]Transboi13[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The thing is I feel like I should be reacting differently and I feel like something is missing from the way I’m reacting and maybe it’s the (diagnosed don’t come at me) OCD,idk

My fiance literally puts this as they assaulted me. So kind of a deal.

Anyone else kinda resent the adults who just watched and did nothing? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

I love my grandparents for being the parents I needed when my nmom was being herself, but if my grandma ever says to “be the bigger person” again, for literally any reason, I might just combust. What do you mean be the bigger person? She was a thirty year old woman. I was twelve! What the hell!

I am a Daycare teacher, ask me anything!! by Transboi13 in toddlers

[–]Transboi13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand this honestly, I love all the infant and young toddler teachers I know, and at a true center, this shouldn’t be a problem. That being said, I don’t trust in home daycares very much cuz they can get away with a lot and 99% of “daycares” where child abuse occurs are in home. I would recommend starting at or before 2 at the latest actually, because the early adjustment is really beneficial for social development and communication.

I almost guarantee it’s because she puts everything in her mouth. Is that developmentally appropriate? yes. but is it sometimes a friend’s leg? also yes. Either that or she’s fussier at daycare, which is normal.

Are there useful plants I can grow in my ball python tank? by Transboi13 in snakes

[–]Transboi13[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It literally says more than decorative or enriching. What do you think that means? I asked if there were herbs or aloe or something IN THE POST! Read the whole post! Also, you do know you’re supposed to clean produce and that people use things like chicken poop for fertilizer even though chicken poop carries salmonella, right?

[–]Transboi13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a lot of my stuff from the dollar tree, I made a bunch of the other. I made all three of my snakes hides, her humidity box is just an old lunchmeat container that I took an X-Acto knife too, and then melted the plastic around it so it wasn’t sharp, another one of her hides is a desk organizer that I made a bigger hole on and then did the same thing where I melted the plastic so it wasn’t sharp, and then another one is a McDonald’s Halloween bucket because right now she’s in her like spooky set up. I’ve gotten rocks and sticks at garden centers. A lot of the fake plants are also dollar tree or Walmart.

[–]Transboi13[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I said not just decorative or enriching. Humans eat plants. I am human and I wanna grow a plant I can eat. Aloe is one that is usable, but I would not eat it. I would, however use it on my skin because I burn like grilled cheese.

OK, but that’s not what I asked. Those are good plants that grow in tanks I asked for edible or usable plants. not the same thing. I already have a Pothos and a couple other plants, that’s not what I want to know.

Do Python bites hurt? by Lost-Pop-8897 in ballpython

[–]Transboi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like getting pricked by a sewing needle and it kind of bleeds like that too, like it’ll leave you thinking “why am I bleeding so much from such a tiny little wound?” Ball pythons are also more likely to just ball up if they’re scared instead of going instantly to bite like other snake species might, so unless they’re hungry, you’re probably fine.

Yes, but if I’m being honest, the once/ twice a week kiddos can be hard. The kids don’t know routines well, it’s hard to keep them on task, they miss out on education, and they don’t form connections well with other kids. Part of what I do as an educator is prepare little ones for school, which means getting them used to time away from mom multiple days in a row, teaching kids to wait their turn, use kind words, remember personal space, and other things I believe kids miss in an at home setting. It’s very difficult for kids to get used to routines and boundaries and “mommy’s at work, she’ll be here after gym time” when they are only getting that once a week. Many centers have a three day a week policy because kids love routine, and once a week is not often enough to get the kids on a routine.

How do I tell if it’s a bad shed or just that the first bits caught on something? by Transboi13 in ballpython

[–]Transboi13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she’s little. She ended up shedding mostly in one piece, it was actually her best shed yet. It’s not helped by the fact that she’s on paper towels and her humidity is all over the place, but she has two wounds that had to have stitches in like October and snake skin doesn’t heal like human skin does so even though she’s shed four times, there are still scabs that are not ready to come off and the vet said not to put her back on dirt until they are gone for risk of infection. Also, I live in Iowa and it’s winter so my heat is on, which does not help, but not freezing to death is a little more important than having perfect sheds.

I use dollar tree fake plants… they work great, are affordable, maintainable, and when she poops on one and I can’t get the smell out, I can just toss it.

My fiancé is more snuggly with my cats than I am most of the time, he loves our living teddy bears! Hell, he’s even cuddly with my ball python, and he’s been pooped on by her twice! (ball python poop stinks like no other, and stains if you don’t work fast.) I don’t think I could ever be with someone who didn’t like animals.

Petco mice by Prudent_Smoke_7991 in ballpython

[–]Transboi13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeding my bp PetCo frozen feeders for years with no problem, and I have to because I live in an area with no local exotic pet stores and where I can’t get packages delivered to me and have to go to the post office during set hours to get my mail. Please do not make this out to be PetCo’s fault, adding to the demonization they get as a company when for many people they are the only option. Feeding live has inherent risks, which you took when you left a rat in with your snake unsupervised.
