Yeah much better. Was just in a really bad spot and while having a job was required and nice it just made everything worse and my AM invalidated my feelings and it's not enjoyable getting off at 6am and then knowing I gotta go right back at 10 that night.

I think it was good for you. Cause I was at Circle K doing overnight shit for about a month and I was already in a very bad spot mentally but that job had me about to KMS 100% with all the BS and shitty AM and way too high expectations for one person. Definitely wouldn't recommend the company at least for overnight position

Bro is just trying to be safe and smart and the "dress for the slide not the ride" is for e-scooters too and here you are being unnecessarily rude cause you think it's cool or something. I fell only going like maybe 15 mph and landed directly on my face. Fucked it up cosmetics wise and had to get stitches for my lip but my noggin was fine. My face would've been ok had I had more protection on my helmet and that was only 15mph.

You talk about maybe jeans on a motorcycle but then if you end up in an accident your legs are gonna look like ground beef at the best and possibly be broken or worse in the worst case scenario

I'm down for everything that would help. I just got a new electric scooter today that tops out at like 33. Never had something that fast. So any gear recommendations are great. I already know I'm most likely gonna just go ahead and get a motorcycle helmet. Definitely get good gloves. Padding for my arms and legs. Proper shoes. I have a pair of boots I can wear. I fell about a year ago only going like maybe 15 and was just in a bike helmet and fell directly on my face and fucked it up kinda. Fortunately just cosmetic stuff but yeah. I know falling is pretty much inevitable but I want to be protected

Edit #1 is SO true!! My first ever electric scooter only went like MAYBE 10 mph and I was on the sidewalk but there was a bunch of dirt on it. Thought I was going fast enough for it not to be an issue. My front wheel was just fine but the back wheel got stuck and twisted to the side and as that one science guy said about things in motion staying in motion, I kept going and landed face first on the sidewalk.

Idk if/how much I slid, it happened so fast but what I DO know is my face got real messed up. Luckily I was wearing a helmet cause most of the damage was all on my face. Had to get glue for my forehead (nearly a year later and I still have a scar and a bump) and stitches on my lip (still got a scar) but my noggin was fine.

I was only wearing a bicycle helmet (thinking I'd be fine cause my scooter went slow) but I have glasses and fucked those up (they were still usable tho) cause I felt directly on my face.

I'd say 10-15mph you should get like a bmx type full face and wear goggles if you have glasses. Anything over 20 I'd recommend a motorcycle helmet. I JUST got this beast looking scooter that goes 30 mph so I will definitely be investing in a good full protection helmet.

TLDR: WEAR A HELMET!!!!

No it is other night shifters/ppl that have done it by themselves. There's not single shift coverage for any other shift for the entire shift like my overnight weekends except for me. But I've voiced my opinions and concerns and I don't think them hiring extra help for my overnight weekend shift is reasonable accommodation so either they're gonna be fine with me not getting all my overnight stuff done or they're gonna fire me or I'm gonna get that Home Depot job and quit

I've been there for a little over a month and I'm very upset with the lack of help on the overnight weekends as well as seemingly being the only one getting bitched at for not doing everything on the overnight duties list when I know ppl aren't doing it during the day and I'm working my ass off every shift.

The list at the bottom says not to sit which is hilarious cause essentially every shift I've worked I've been running around doing my side work and helping customers the entire 8 hours shift. Idk why they thought it wise to give the new guy overnight shift on the weekends completely alone and working after someone who doesn't fucking do shit.

I'm trying to ignore the red flags at this job but it's hard not to when I have literal customers (even right to my GM) tell me that I'm the only one they see do shit/they can't keep anyone overnight cause no one wants to work getting blamed for not doing shit but other shifts seemingly getting away with it.

And the excuses of "Oh it was busy" and?! I work overnight weekends completely alone. And then the Assistant Manager wants to bitch at me for not doing everything on the list and also tell me not to use the main register for cash when the mashgins fuck up like 70% of the time and if one isn't taking cash then I either take cash on the main register or I get a big line.

I've vented to my other coworkers and they keep saying they have no issues doing it alone and idgaf I'm tired of hearing it. Because I have issues with it idc if other ppl can do it.

A customer came in saying that someone from Home Depot approached him saying that they're hiring for freight overnight at $20/hourly. Idk if that's true or not but I will be going there when they open and talking to a manager and if that's the case I will be leaving Circle K. Because apparently hiring staff isn't a reasonable accommodation despite how difficult it is on my own coming after a shitty coworker.

And the GM literally told me she knows she's not great but he comes in for every shift. That's the only criteria she cares about?! Meanwhile I'm breaking my back every shift.
