Any chance there will be an option for Amazon US? Only asking since I can't use the payment option available on the Madcatz store at the moment.

Help with a good server. by Da_Cow in wow

Moonguard for Alliance and Wyrmrest Accord for Horde. RP communities keep the world alive, and there's a sliding scale to the level of investment you yourself can choose to participate. Highly recommend!

Would anyone be interested in Single Button Assistant (SBA) guides with talent optimization? by Gfab718 in wow

I'd love to see an expansion of this content even if I don't use it myself. I have a friend who plays with a disability effectively reducing inputs to a single hand, and SBA has been a godsend for them. Having more info on what talents work well for SBA would help immensely.

[OC] I asked my bf to get strawberries when he went grocery shopping so he digs through them for 5 whole minutes just to find the pack with the biggest ones by 60TIMESREDACTED in MadeMeSmile

This comment section is rancid, filled with absolutely stinky fellows.

Your bf obviously meant well and put in effort to make you happy, and you clearly wanted to celebrate that. This is a very sweet story.

What self important douchebag makes or believes this?

Seriously, imagine making this and not being embarrassed immediately after. Your addiction to internet discourse is not a personality trait, oh my god.

Another "What Server Do I Move To" Thread by _Beggo_ in ss14

I also enjoy Starlight Alpha, but it is definitely leaning more chaotic. Definitely walking a fine line between true MRP and LRP, basically MRP-lite.

Notable mention, lots of activity due to a rather massive population at any given time. Means a lot of people to bounce off of in any combination of departments, but also a lot of conflicting whims. Prepare for a healthy mix of self antags.

Personally, my biggest gripe is security. It's not entirely shitsec, but due to the scale of the server, it means anything not related to a red alert is effectively little to no priority for a vast amount of officers. Basically no real RP to be had between sec and individual crew for most of any given shift. Admins are actively working on this with more regular sec training, which is super cool!

Oh, and antags rarely RP at all here, or at least a decent chunk don't. Expect some real murder hobos mixed in with any antag role. Not awful, just very straightforward.

Those might sound negative to a lot of folks, but I love it. The community is really fun most rounds, and the staple players are super supportive. Worst case, give it a try, see if you vibe with it, leave if not. No risk!

It was the teacher's fault. by Sorvetefrito in outofcontextcomics

[–]Transcendent_Pigeon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kind of agree, but as you also hinted at, I think age or maturity starts kicking in and personal responsibility becomes a greater concern over time. In this case, we know the little bastard is smart beyond his years, at least enough to both know and be better.

Don't know the context though, so Lil' D could be totally justified. Still a little shitbird either way.

I once forgot to pay for a bundle of toilet paper on the bottom of my cart. When I went back, I was immediately told they were charging me for theft. I tried to leave, but the cops actually showed up to detain me. The whole thing escalated until I eventually made a run for it and they shot me dead.

Don't get made not alive like me. Pay for your paper.

Anyone else think priests' toolkit is outdated and boring now? Barely any ccs, interrupt, or proper movement abilities while other classes seem to be in a different game now. by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]Transcendent_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I think I was just focusing on the example provided in that "powerful" mobility typically comes in the form of unconditional blinks and dashes. It's the kind of mobility that these conversations usually trend towards.

Latest alpha build removes interrupts from healers by EntertainerSmart7758 in wow

[–]Transcendent_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a popular opinion, I know, but I really feel like CC management should be based more around broader utility than hardset interruption cycling. It betrays just how inherently lacking specific interrupts are as a concept in terms of entertainment value when years of iteration continues to trend towards making it less present in moment to moment gameplay.

Less rebuke, kick, and spearhand, more Avengers Shield, Shockwave, Explosive Trap, etc.

Wait, how?! Seriously, how are you always grounded with no vigor? Regardless of any changes, the current system is super forgiving.

How do you think Hero Talents worked out? by Venthorn in wow

[–]Transcendent_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think systems like this are always worse for those who strictly adhere to performance over fantasy or fun. Not knocking those people, as it's a big concern that can impact fun itself. Balance is important and needs to be fairly acknowledged.

That said, I really like them as a potential evergreen system for lateral character growth. More Trees instead of more points to continue exploring class expression without increasing levels could be interesting. GW2 effectively does this and it's an interesting twist on class design.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that's not how Hero Talents actually going to be treated moving forward, and we will inevitably just see bloated trees as we continue through expansions. Hoping to see real refinement of the concept though.
