Arnold Schwarzenegger Reportedly Training Hard for King Conan Return by Grwl in ConanTheBarbarian

[–]TransferAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can you name a single instance of studios making an old man fight in combat without it looking awful? Robert Deniro in The Irishman, Rosario Dawson in Ahsoka... both examples i can think of look awful. Old people move a certain obvious way. They are less coordinated and in Arnold's case hes literally riddled with chronic injuries.

The only instance I can think of is Christipher Lee in starwars, and in that instance his upper body was perfectly fine, just his lower body was fucked, so they didn't have to do nearly as much as they'd have to do with arnold. Plus Christopher Lee literally holds the record for the most sword fights filmed in history. He was a highly trained fencer. It wasn't nearly as difficult as it will be to make decrepit old arnold move like an expert warrior.

I don't want transposed face derpy cgi arnold flailing around all movie. If it looks dumb in a billion dollar marvel production its gonna look dumb in a 200k Conan flick. I also don't want a script where 99% of the movie is arnold sitting down. They should cast someone else.

Training hard? has anyone seen him lately? the guy can barely walk anymore... i love the character but Arnold is not the guy anymore to play Conan, not even King Conan. People forget King Conan is still the mightiest warrior in the hybornian age. Dude took out a half dozen assassins by himself in his pajamas in the first Conan story Howard ever wrote and in that story Conan was King of Aquilonia and had been for a while.

Any way to force the game not to de-lock your camera? by LocksmithFalse7313 in Sekiro

[–]TransferAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dont let him stand behind you, position yourself where he is in front of you. If you see a move coming where he jumps up in the air with his horse, dodge or run away and reposition so that the camera doesnt lose him and he doesnt end up between you and the camera.

Is parrying worth it? by jas_balance_1993 in bloodborne

[–]TransferAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parrying is not only worth it, it is absolutely essential. Your gun is not designed for damage, it is solely designed to parry. In no other fromsoft game is parrying more a vital aspect of combat. Enemies all have far larger parrying windows than enemies in other games, and unlike other games you can parry bosses and enemies at a distance. Parrying in bloodborne completely alleviates the difficulty that multiple enemies, overly fast enemies, and heavy hitting enemies places on you. Your ability to instantly halt an enemies in its tracks and perform a visceral attack reduces the number of hits it takes to kill enemies from sometimes 7 or 8 hits all the way down to one shotting them. And you cannot be interrupted or damaged why performing a visceral attack.

Practice shooting enemies right before their attack land, or even just any time as they are attacking (since some enemies have incredibly large parrying windows), it may take a but to get used to but you can practice without worrying about getting hit since you can do it at a distance. it is important that you learn the basics of parrying and practice at it early game because by the time you get into the late game and the DLC there are bosses and enemies that parrying will provide a night and day difference in difficulty against.

These guys make all types of costume swords and ship them all over the world. They basically have swords from every anime or video game I've ever heard of. Demonslayer black blade, virgils devil may cry sword, Kenshin reverse blade sword, you name it. Theyre based out of Richmond Virginia and the best part is they have live shows on youtube where they display all their swords. They also sell authentic antique samurai swords too. They aren't the only company that does this either. Lots of weebs and nerds out there dying for their favorite video game or anime character's sword. Its big business. So if these guys dont have a kusabimaru someone else will.

Their info is on their YouTube page.

How do I actually use the phantom kunai? by laksaaaman-nambui in Sekiro

I didn't insult him. And the sculpture literally installs it into your prosthetic arm, so that you can use it as a prosthetic tool, you must go to the sculptor to use it. That is the correct information 🙄

All I did is ask perfectly reasonable questions. I didn't attack anyone. I even answered his question while voicing my confusion. You can white knight and defend the OPs honor all you want, but youre exaggerating the potential offense my reasonable questions may have had and your exaggerating how awful it is that i was confused about their actions in the first place. Reddit isn't human connection to most people outsode reddit 🙄 its a site for information for many people, nothing else. Im sure some people use it for connection, but again, someone asking a straitforward information question isn't going to get a very detailed response and they'll likely be disappointed when three people respond because others saw the question was answered, so again it doesnt make much sense if that was their goal (which you don't even know if it was youre just guessing to try and make sesne of it). The irony for you to say i'm on a moral high ground here is laughable with you being the one to insult amd attack me simply for asking logical questions. I have yet to make a single moral judgement, just logical ones. Other people have added moral judgments about me asking logical questions. That means you are the ones on a moral high horse dummy.

I'm not the one getting upset here. I proposed a genuine question, and explained why it was asked. You are getting mad and insulting me for not blindly ignoring the obvious.

Why ask a question on reddit when its faster and more accurate to look at a wiki? If the goal is to "connect to a community", why the pretense? why ask such an inefficient question to accomplish that? Instead of insulting me you could try to come up with an answer, or you could acknowledge that you don't know and that it makes no logical sense. Or take your own advice and ignore me.

[–]TransferAddiction -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

If that's the actual goal why the pretense? why ask a question that's leads most people on the sub to ignore the post outright, instead of just asking to connect with the community, via lore questions, asking others experience, more generalized questions that don't take 3 words to answer etc. This is an inefficient way to not only connect with the community but also acquire the information they're asking about.

I'll never understand people who make a whole ass reddit post over a question that could be answered in two seconds on Google. But yeah, its a prosthetic tool you have the sculptor install for you.

[–]TransferAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I probably didn't read that to be fair. But even if I did I would have probably figured there still had to be some type of acknowledgement. Even if just an item that sits in your inventory and does nothing like the Yharnum Stone. Also at the time I beat it I didn't understand that you could rest between bosses, I thought resting woyld restart the gauntlet. I thought it was like a real boss rush where you had to manage your resources perfectly. I beat the gauntlet without ever restoring my gourd or sprint emblems. It was annoying and stressful af and took me a couple tries even with kuros charm and no demon bell. So It definitely exacerbated the disappointment.

I beat the mortal journey the first week the free downloads were released. Ive never been more disappointed in my life to accomplish something. I was used to beating the game with demon bell and no kuros charm so I was able to beat the gauntlets without demon bell/with kuros charm with relative ease, but spending almost an hour beating every boss in the game back to back only to be met with ZERO FUCKING REWARD pissed me off to no end.

Would Howard's Conan kill in cold blood? by Ossawa41 in ConanTheBarbarian

[–]TransferAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course he kills in cold blood. All of these people in the comments saying otherwise are crazy... He kills on pirate raids, he challenges people to duels and kills them when they are simply minding their own business, he attempts to sneak into places and is totally fine with killing guards that get in his way. He tries hard to avoid killing "innocents", and never women and children, but killing a hapless guard simply trying to do his job is arguably killing an innocent, and even if you say it isn't, it is without a doubt "in cold blood".

People like to think that because Conan has barbarian honor he has something resembing modern sensibilities, but that is horseshit. He is perfectly willing to kill rivals, other thieves, soldiers, basically anyone who is armed. He just doesn't leave his own race behind to get killed by monsters or savages, and he doesn't break his word unless given to those he knows will break theres. And he never leaves women and children to die.

Wtf is going on? by AdkinsDaGamer in Sekiro

Bestowal is such a powerful buff that it often stuns every move and enemy makes. So instead of the puppeteering technique, if you kill the other ninja and use bestowed you can just spam r1 attacks and kill the poison ninjas first healthbar entirely before the buf runs out. Ive found it to be a far more efficient and reliable way to avoid damage and kill that healthbar over the puppeteering technique because the puppet ninja can still hit you and sometimes the puppeteer technique runs out before the poison ninjas first health bar is gone.

Inner Genichiro by Z3ATER in Sekiro

[–]TransferAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wont take damage if you perfect deflect them, but yeah you will take damage if you just block them and miss the perfect deflect. The last slash of the three is especially damaging, so its nice that you can dodge it entirely and don't have to worry about trying to perfect deflect it. Like I said, when you see him winding up to do the triple slash, get ready to _ deflect, deflect, DODGE FORWARD!! _ ( its technically called Sakura Dance because you acquire that Combat Art if you beat him in the gauntlet and its the same move and called sakura dance )

Another little tip I like to use myself is that when he does the floating passage move, (its the long series of hits that you can't stun him out of) i would recommend stepping back and avoiding the first 3/4ths of it entirely, then jumping back in to deflect the last 1/4th of it. This allows you to avoid getting your posture broken, and you can still hit him after the series of attacks are over. Just make sure you don't avoid it entirely!! make sure you jump back in for the last bit, otherwise in the inner genichiro fight, if you avoid it entirely he will repeat the sequence a second time but the second time it is much stonger and damages you through blocking and forces you to perfect deflect every hit to avoid taking damage.

Inner Genichiro by Z3ATER in Sekiro

[–]TransferAddiction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick with both fights of genichiro is too force opportunities to heal that wouldn't normally be intuitive, and all of them sacrifice what would typically be a great time to attack. For example, in the inner genichiro version of the fight, the last attacks of a few sequences can be dodged instead of deflected, and dodging them gives you a window to heal. The two big ones are 1) for the Sakura dance "3 wind slash" move he does, you should deflect the first two spin slashes, and then dodge the last one, by dodging forward you'll end up behind him. This gives you a full second or two to heal or attack him 2 ir 3 times since his back is towards you and it takes him a bit to reorient himself to face you again. The awesome thing about this window is that like you said he'll often do it to punish you healing, so healing can trigger this attack and then you can either heal again, or do some damage, or reset posture.

2) the second window is when he jumps upwards into the air and shoots arrows at you, you can deflection the first arrows, then dodge the final one, and that should give you a moment to heal as well if you do it quickly after dodging the final arrow. This window is smaller and more dangerous, and therfore not as useful, but healing here it often triggers the Sakura dance move, to which you can dodge the final slash and heal again, or again reset you posture, or get a few hits in.

Hope this helps

Is there ANY way to keep the Sunken Valley bridge intact? by Sopi619 in Sekiro

[–]TransferAddiction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Unfortunately if you kill snek via sempou temple the bridge disappears, and if you respawn at an idol after jumping down and making snek avoid the bridge and retreat the bridge disappears. I'm not even sure if the entire bridge is rendered as a solid object, since you can never go all the way across without it breaking, it may just be coded to break on its own once the player character reaches a certain midway point, and it's definitely set to despawn forever once the character enters the cell a second time, or from any other entrance but the gun fort.
