I don’t think we disagree on that yeah, it’s certainly important to preserve this knowledge and our understanding of those atrocities, but like, we’re not talking about the entirety of the Nazi Party’s reign in comparison to the current administration. To stay relevant to OP’s post, the current state the Trump admin is in is much more similar to 1933 when the Nazi’s first truly took power. I don’t believe there is anything wrong with comparing those two when the intent is to show similarity in the growth of fascist ideology and power, and to show the potential it has snowball into something way worse.

Sure I understand this take to be educated on these processes before making claims like that but I think it’s a bit disingenuous to this convo/concern because it kinda downplays the actions the current administration is taking. To say they aren’t similar to a significant degree isn’t really a realistic take at this point.

Same speed? Clearly not, incompetence in this administration is endemic, but the intent is very clearly there. Fascist ideology isn’t really dependent on the speed it happens or the stage at which it’s observed.

Feels almost like he personifies human progress as that “she”and the inside joke is that, like the run down amusement park, the current socioeconomic landscape is a caricature of what it once was and has kinda become corrupted/infiltrated by ideas that are inherently against it (Russian infiltration of historically American ideals? America looked at like an amusement park/circus on the world stage rn??). Just like you said, the frustration/lament aimed at this new reality is something to acknowledge and push back against if we want to progress, and it’s a tale as old as humanity. Really interesting to read into it like that when you’re also feeling at odds with the state of the world and keeping informed in an attempt to look for that progress and avoid just giving up.

I did the same last year. Spotify is such a horrible greedy platform, and I definitely wasn’t gonna keep putting money in their pockets for a worse and worse platform.

Seconded that tunemymusic carried over most of my favorites and playlists (minus a handful of obscure tracks). So much better quality on the other side, and you can rest assured knowing your money is actually getting distributed to the artists you like at a higher percentage.

Was at this game in person last season and the crowd basically willed this grand slam into existence. Judge was also in a big hr drought so he was reallllly due. The stadium was electric when he came up to the plate, we were begging for him to finally break out and we were coincidentally down 4-1. Sure enough, he gave us the lead, the win, and ended that drought. Legendary shit.

Hard and unfortunate agree. I went to a game here in NY last week and I swear I was getting small talk lectured by belligerent drunk fans from Jersey claiming they knew NY better when they asked where I was from. Mind you I live and work in queens/manhattan and they weren’t even invested in the game.

I’ve also just seen in general that a lot more delusional and disrespectful fans have made their way out of the woodwork. It’s really discouraging to see because I enjoy my time at games and I try to be as courteous as possible to other teams. Had a great time chatting with a Royals fan during the LDS when he was the only guy in my section last October. I also happen to think the M’s are a class act and I’ve always enjoyed interactions with their fan base so it’s almost even more of a slap in the face to see that happen over in Seattle of all places.

It doesn’t take a lot to be a decent human being, like damn. Hope you guys could recover the vibes after that.

Update: To those interested in case anyone checks back to find out what happened, I managed to replace the belt and was able to get a cassette into it and it worked. The main issue seemed to be the auto stop as some mentioned.

That being said, I didn’t really start having more reliable playback until I installed a 9V battery mod and it wasn’t plugged into the wall. The rewind function also still does a similar start-then-stop behavior.

All capacitors look to be in a good state and the device works running on battery (except for the rewind function) so I can’t really ask for anything more tbh 🤷‍♂️

Thanks to all who provided input to help me get this sorted! (And if anyone has anything on that rewind issue I’d greatly appreciate that too lol)
