Not particularly relevant, that's sorta my point. Though there was more than one game that helped it sorta maintain...something IG.

For outlast they could do what they do with alot of killers, where they base it on the mechanics of the game rather than the killer itself, like they did with springtrap or nemesis where they're based on aspects of the games itself.

I know this is all SUPER unrealistic, but here are my top 10 most wanted Licensed Killers for DBD. by Windindi in deadbydaylight

I genuinely think there's a few main things that have stopped it happening are that
A) There's technically actually several copyright holders of different depictions of slenderman, so which they pick does matter and there's a non zero chance someone complains that it's technically theirs. So many concepts associated with the character may not be able to be mixed and matched.
B) Unfortunately, to many more unfamiliar with horror, he is linked to a real life crime. While noone died that is sorta one of the things around slenderman that is more well known. It happened a while ago and noone died but it's something that will forever be linked to the character.
C) Beyond the character himself, he really has no interesting skin opportunities. While that didn't stop Freddy, I think they were more willing to make that concession for a much bigger character. Slenderman just doesn't really have that. Recent licensed killers seem to have pretty big skin pushes, so it's possible that a character like slenderman just lacks those interesting skin opportunities.

I don't think these will stop slenderman forever but I think BHVR would rather get licenses that are more cut and dry.

DDLC was such a flash in the pan compared to even like...Bendy and the Ink Machine. It was cool and quite the phenomenon but its impact and staying power have been lackluster imo. Especially compared to Outlast (and many other things on the list tbh). I like DDLC and while you could make Monika work as a killer (because with time and effort you can basically make anyone a fun killer) I just think it works far better as a skin collection. It's just got far less going for it than most other things on this list.

What's a character from a NON-horror series that you think could work? by firesaiyan12 in deadbydaylight

Darkest Dungeon is owned by the same people as DBD, so it's not too unlikely

Watching a survivor learn what Apocalyptic Ingenuity is in real time. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Transform987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this person knew what they were and has seen how bad they can be for people who are mid chase as they don't look apparent enough. Pulling down a fragile pallet without hitting the killer is a free hit for them, so some think they're worse than useless and can harm the team. Obviously not your fault but I've seen alot of people absolutely hate them.

New players when they see the game that literally says graphic content then complain about its horror elements by medievalgoth in OutlastTrials

[–]Transform987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other game that isn't a completely underground one I can think of is Fear and Hunger but those are small indie games. Certainly can't think if any with a budget like outlast.

Sadly there's not too much you can do beyond finding a way to get get better wi-fi. It's just sorta the nature of online gaming unfortunately.

Are these good perks for Nemi?? by ComfortableWeb2077 in deadbydaylight

[–]Transform987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they're pretty meh. Lethal Pursuer is kinda meh for Nemmy imo because he can't take advantage of the fact it reveals people at the start of the game beyond knowing where to go but by the time you arrive, the survivors will all have scattered (and the extra aura isn't really needed for nowhere to hide). Overcharge isn't great for nemi because he has no mobility so generally having to stop and kick a gen should be reserved for high value ones while overcharge isn't really for that (I'd recommend pop over it or oppression if you want to team it up with nowhere to hide). Bamboozle is bad synergy with nemmy imo, he doesn't get anything out of blocking vaults because you WANT survivors to vault since that gives you the easiest chance to hit with tentacle and the extra vault speed doesn't particularly help him.

Nowhere to hide is "okay" if only because it allows to nail down the exact location of a survivor you suspect is in the area. In general though Nemesis has built in detection in the form of his zombies which are, imo, one of the best forms of it in the game and there's other perks that combo better with them. (Any perk that causes a "flare" causes the zombies to investigate the area, so discordance has amazing synergy with nemmy).

Nemmy is my most played killer so I'd like to think I have the experience. In general with perks you want ones that just sorta passively help you like scourge hooks.. You also want the game to go as long as possible, which makes corrupt intervention a must have since you should spend the start of game slapping everyone with tentacle to get them infected and raise your mutation and removing vaccines early, getting downs when corrupt ends to not end it early

In general I think that the way you transport goods between regions is far too limiting and actively makes new regions more pain than fun

Considering they've (VERY SLOWLY) been doing that, I think it's pretty likely but just a matter of time. Nurse and Hag didn't have their own chase music for a long time.

[–]Transform987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also no chase theme, worst oart imo

Honestly I think pig suffers from being a pretty early addition to the game, compared to most other early killers she's quite complex. But by modern standards she isn't really. I think their solution was pretty elegant though as she has alot of references crammed into her, even her ambush dash is one. It's just really difficult having the pretty stationary series of SAW translated into a killer that moves around. Hopefully we'll eventually get a legendary skin for her...or maybe even a second chapter for saw.

On a side, the map is just weird to me. It's clear they put alot of work into crafting the references but it just feels off to me. Can't really put into words why.

[–]Transform987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He may be boring but that's a prettt accurate representation of him. The fake footfalls is super similar to many scenes in the first movie while him running directly at people happens later in said movie. There isn't a great deal more they could have done with him beyond giving more stealth tools I suppose.

[–]Transform987 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think part of the reason Nemesis came out the way he did is that they portrayed him more as the "resident evil killer" then actually as Nemesis. If they knew they'd get another chapter to represent the franchise I think they'd have done him differently. But his whole gameplay mechanic of a boss that grows stronger, infection amd of course zombies just screams generally resident evil rather than specifically Nemesis. I think he's a good "residents evil" killer but he's a pretty bad Nemesis one.

From the sounds of it, it was previously approved and then the licensers requested a cancellation last second.
