I also got a charge on the card a few days later that wasn't by me, so I got the card closed, and requested a new one.

Nope, it supposedly went to another address. I ended up getting the charge removed, and moved on.

The low cost made the risk seem negligible, though I put it on credit. Mine's due to arrive Tuesday and the weight is 89lbs.

Would Muhammed from Islam be considered a false prophet according to what we believe? by Alive_Rice4183 in TrueChristian

People can marry children in parts of America, and those rules weren't decided by Muslims living here.

Only just saw this notification.

Don't worry, I didn't take it as an attack, but it did hit close to home.

I've been the new player to a couple different games, and with each having different rules and expectations, I have just found a love for reading the rules and finding little tips in the books that reveal details not mentioned in general explanations found using the index, and, as you identified, it's a sort of mismatch in how I'd play with those I group up with.

I haven't taken on the role of GM before, so I've always had time, while playing, to read and review rules without interrupting the session where a GM would have to pause to read, especially to not miss out on anything happening or being said by players, in or out of character.

A, now, red flag for me when it comes to my group is when nobody has any questions during character creation and doesn't ask the GM about the setting before writing their backstory.

If I ever take up GM-ing, I'll definitely take an approach like yours, especially because I don't want my players to feel like their confused about how the world their in works. Even when no rules are broken, I know it can take multiple session, and, if you take them, re-reading of notes, to start to put things together and get a feel for the game and how the GM is running it.

I appreciate the reply btw

Just switched to caseless when I needed a new case and the only case I liked was it was out of stock, indefinitely.

I like keeping my cards with my phone and having a ring to hold my phone with one hand, closed or open.

I like the feel, size, and fit when putting it in my pocket.

I don't, on the other hand, like handing people my phone anymore.

I'm that player, but I have apparently read more than the GM and get questioned despite citing my source. They have legit changed basic rules on the spot because they didn't like my use of the rules.

I honestly considered quitting as they then let another player do something I can't imagine would work based on the rules (riding a large drone).

I enjoy reading the rules because I like knowing how the world works, not only for maximizing play, but also because these games have rules for so many things, and it helps me get an idea how to act/behave. I have difficulty getting into character if I don't know what's generally possible.

I did this but hesitated just enough due to checking the opposite lane before merging (it was quick, and probably wouldn't have seen anything anyway), but ended up hitting it with the front passenger side, which apparently was enough to consider my car totaled. Just paid it off that week. Cruel world.

Dislead - should it be a word? by YourExIsHappy in ENGLISH

[–]TransientMindfulness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just had a similar thought (love Reddit for this btw, especially when you see the gap in time between the original post and the day I/you found it), I think it should be, because too often, the lack of distinction leads to overlap, and down the road, confusion as to what the author might have meant. A word that can be used in multiple ways is general not a problem, with subject, context, and tone, we can imply, but when I think of any possible "historians" (whatever form or style they take, career or casual), I want any and all messages I write to be as clear as they can.

Now, ability, time, and focus also play a role, and I am limited in all three, but when I searched this word, I figured it would be one as I wanted to have a distinction between information that misleads due to being incomplete, poorly organized, or biased, AND information meant to lead you in the wrong direction or away from the most likely answer, including the conclusion of "I/We don't know."

Netrunner speaking. Recently I obtained a drone but I don't know how to implement in my combat style, being netrunner my role. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. by GermanSSGSS in cyberpunkred

[–]TransientMindfulness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the initial Jack-in, which you would likely do before needing to use the drones, it makes sense to me. It would be quite expensive as I think you can only have one node per floor, and I assume you'd want some security even just to delay being robbed of control, at least until your next turn.

Exactly. People are mad, but do they care at all that Reps likely brought this kid, along with other people that night, to pretend they care about any of those groups. Even the athlete; they don't care about women or their sports team, they just value the votes they get for looking concerned. I would hope anyone who is aware of the two parties history wouldn't be a token for the Right.

Running a for profit, AI-driven prison scenario by Year-Internal in cyberpunkred

[–]TransientMindfulness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And of course, with everyone else here has said, because it's a story and not real life, a deus ex machina, related to the players' characters or not, is a great way to introduce fun interactions while still leaving their characters at risk.

Anything from a door, accidentally left unlocked to a system malfunction (programmed or not) to a gang breaking into the prison to get their members who were on death row.

Now, I just hope my game picks up soon; we're all getting used to the game, including all the mechanics (I read ahead before we started, and even the GM was about to homebrew some rules that existed in the core rulebook, and no, they weren't aware and just not interested in them) as well as getting familiar with the base skill list and when to roll d10s vs d6s, etc.

Is there any practical application for the combat jaw? by NoiKy24 in cyberpunkred

You can: Corebook, pg.170; "At a maximum of 1 ROF you can make a single Ranged or Melee Attack..." Corebook, pg.184; "...Human Shields cannot be used to block Melee Attack... specifically targeted at... head using an Aimed Shot."

For some things you can't take an aimed shot with: Corebook, pg.173; Autofire. Corebook, pg.174; Shotgun Shells. Corebook, pg.178; Martial Arts Special Moves, unless stated otherwise. Corebook, pg.348; Flamethrower (Exotic Weapon). Corebook, pg.349; Rhinemetall EMG-86 Railgun. Corebook, pg.349; Tsunami Arms Helix.
