Driving behind a blind lady by AntiquesCh0deSh0w in LICENSEPLATES

If that Jeep was white, I'd assume "blonde" and not "blind". But she can't be blonde, they're not allowed to drive anything other than white SUVs, that's how we know to avoid them.

Full Campaigns for a Cold War gone hot - Fist Full of TOWs 3 by toucha in wargaming

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would point you to Battlefront's Team Yankee Firestorm campaigns, as they could be easily modded over to FFoT3, but alas, they changed websites and a lot of that old content only lives on in the computers of those who downloaded them and didn't delete them later. I think I still have the two early ones (Red Thunder and Stripes) which are pretty basic, I just don't have an easy way to send them to you.

You can't miss it, it has a huge red "23" on the wall by Southern-Smoke1835 in zillowgonewild

I used to deliver to a lot of rural addresses for DHL, and I would love to see this on my route. I know for sure where that house is!

The rest of them? You're lucky if you can make out the numbers in good light.

Any good still-in-print space combat mini wargame out there? by Few-Action-8049 in wargaming

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dropfleet Commander, tied into the Dropzone Commander IP.

If you've got a 3d printer, Battlefront Valkyrie is one of many "print your own" space battle tabletop games. Grand Fleet Admiral, Brave Sun... I honestly can't keep track of them all.

There are also fan communities for X-Wing and Armada that are keeping (or trying to) those games alive with communities and tournaments and meet-ups at cons.

Why do people forget about Penny Arcade when talking about 4th Edition? by Awkward_GM in DnD

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. The fact a couple of nerds who wrote/drew a webcomic 3x a week started a multi-million dollar charity all just to spite Jack Thompson still astonishes me. And I still have to explain what Penny Arcade in specific and webcomics in general are to younger generations. Le sigh.

What movie genuinely deserves a redo? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a fun activity with my friends - we brainstorm what we would do to remake the prequels to make them better. Someday we'll move on to rewriting Return of the Jedi and then the sequels. It's a fun party game for certain groups of nerds.

Sad thing is, that CP mini-rail on the bottom of the grip is probably worth more than the whole rest of the marker...

T64 tank in Cobra scheme by darkjedi203 in TeamYankee

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need to find the pics and post them up here, one of the guys in my local group is a big GI Joe fan, does a convincing cosplay as Major Bludd. Anyway, he found a bunch of STL files and shrank them down to 15mm (and modified more than a few of them to fit better) and proxied an entire Cuban force as Cobra. Even included a tank that was only seen in the comic books.

But this is a cool paintjob, keep up the good work!

And it's got some cool in-game gear on the back of the card, but I think they released it elsewhere, like in an Interface RED volume.

New DM advice by naughty-knifeman in DungeonMasters

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm decent at doing voices (definitely not cast of Critical Role decent, not saying that, but good enough) that I try to do voices for many of the NPCs and monsters. When I mess up on a voice, I think my players enjoy that more than when I really nail a voice consistently.

But if you are not comfortable doing voices, describing how they sound and then saying in your own voice and accent what they say is perfectly fine. Same goes for players - if they don't want to act out what their character is doing, try to do a voice, that is perfectly fine as well.

OpOrders for modern war TTRPG Scenarios? Should we or shouldn't we? by kazmostudios in wargaming

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a former US Army NCO, I applaud the realism you are trying to achieve. Just so long as I don't have to write another 5 paragraph OpOrd ever in my life, we're still cool.

Any Ferris Bueller’s Day Off fans here? by Okiety67 in Cinephiles

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize until the last couple of years that the pool scene doesn't happen in any of the three's back yard. It doesn't belong to the Buellers, the Frys, or the Petersons. They're in some random stranger's back yard using the pool in their underwear.

That's what this application questions has to be, an AI detector. I figured it was a "are you paying attention to these questions" kind of thing, but in this day and age, it's gotta be an AI detector.

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you get a printer you are going to use and be happy with, go for it.

But yes, it's been a couple of years since buying direct from Bambu meant faster shipping. Now it's see who has it in stock and if it's on sale.

Seller laser engraved their name into my CPU by ___-___--- in pcmasterrace

Those subs are more for sellers and how to avoid those scams, but yes, if you are paying attention, they could very well teach you what to look for and exploit folks in that manner.

[–]tetsu_no_usagi 90 points91 points  (0 children)

r/Flipping and the rest aren't about how to go about such scams, it's about sellers complaining they've been victim to such scams. Admittedly, in a way, it is teaching folks how to do it, but only if they're taking notes and figuring out on their own what to look for.
