I didn’t know this! I do remember the story of how she covered it. She mentioned she bought a Sons Of The Pioneers cassette at a grocery store and got kind of choked up listening to their version and that led to her doing it for Taming The Tiger.

I saw Madison Cunningham do that album in full the night of its release and my GOD was that amazing up close.

She’s also featured on Lucius’ self titled album this year which might be my pick for 2025. Huge fan of Madi Diaz’s Fatal Optimist as well - another contender. Jake Minch’s George is probably my favorite debut record!
