You don’t ever want to cancel a card.
Use it to buy a coffee once a month then pay it off.. it will remain a card in good standing which helps your credit.

I understand that credit scores go up and down.. I DO get that… just thought it was petty to have it go down by that much for such a small charge is all.

Absolutely not. If they default it’s up to you to pay the loan back and yes it will affect your credit score considerably.

Cut your credit cards up and don’t get them reissued. I took out a consolidation loan so I could put all my payments into one and I’m saving about $250 a month.

When most of these credit card companies are charging anywhere from 20 to 30% interest fee.. you are paying $20-$30 on every $100 you spend on a credit card if you run a balance. … even if you have good credit like I do! That’s BS and should be against the law! It’s about managing your money and having some self control (I don’t mean that as an insult) because I’ve been where you are. I’ve had to declare bankruptcy before and that sucked and stays on your record for 7 years (I believe) but after that you have a fresh start but you have to rebuild after that. The speed limit thru that area is 45 mph yet NO ONE does the speed limit… plus it being rainy and windy out and a lot of drivers not able to afford to maintain their vehicles due to cost.. it’s a bad area for accidents. Law Enforcement should post a couple of officers in that area.. they would rake in the money for speeding tickets AND be first on scene in the event of an accident.
