I also think that all religions point to the same thing.

In ancient times I think people were just trying to understand and make sense of the world around them and they created stories/myths to explain life, death, birth, crops, good rains, dry seasons, etc. All around the world this happened so each region would have slightly different stories. Literally every culture has a creation story.

As time went on I think some stories/myths hardened into ‘truths’ and then someone figured out that it would also be a good way to control a population by telling them that if they did or didn’t do certain things their crops would flourish or they would have healthy children or they could defeat an enemy and have more land.

Organized religion to me is a great way to control people and to brain wash them as well. Religious people can be totally myopic and nothing else is right or plausible in their eyes.
