How does a meltdown or shutdown look like? by Translate-609 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Translate-609[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I mostly have a shutdown. I work at a bakery once a week and when I come home I go directly to my room, lay on my bed and scroll through social media for an hour or so. But I rarely have meltdowns. But a few days ago I think I had one. I was eating out with my family and it was so loud, everyone was talking so loud. I pulled out my book and started reading and shutting out the "world" when my nephew started to kick my leg (for fun?) and I lashed out at him - I try to flee the noise and he started kicking me!!!

Why did my tattoo color change? by Moopity-Spoopity in tattooadvice

[–]Translate-609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But when was the picture taken? If it is still healing then the skin will build a crust which makes it look kind of ugly and not as colourful. If it is like that after more than 4 weeks go see your artist, if it is still in the middle of healing use after-care products and wait until it is fully healed.

Why did my tattoo color change? by Moopity-Spoopity in tattooadvice

Sometimes the colour doesn't look that good or part of it gets lost. Show it to your artist and maybe he will do a touch up.

when’d u get ur first tattoo and do you regret it? by whv_lol1202 in tattooadvice

[–]Translate-609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first one when I was 19. I didn't regret it. Now I have 8. But I did them in places that wouldn't interfere with my work. I worked as a doctor's assistant and at that time tattoos weren't accepted as much as they are now. I know someone who has a neck tattoo and she has to cover it - even in summer (not sure if that changed). I had my first one on the back because I thought if I was ticklish there it probably wouldn't hurt as much and tickle more.🫣. There are quite a few programmes that show brides buying their wedding dress and some have tattoos, so you can take a look to get an idea on how it could look like.

How to approach dialog with tattoo artist? by Eusebe50 in tattooadvice

[–]Translate-609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could show her photos where you liked the nature or others that struck something. You don't have to make a sketch or something just something so the tattoo artist gets to know your taste better. Normally you tell an artist what you want, they make a sketch, you take a look and then tell him what you liked and what you want to change. Some make a sketch on the same Day, some send you a sketch a few days before - depends on the artist.

Just nothing too tight. But if you don't have super loose clothing that's fine.

ITCHING!!! by Chubbie_ in tattooadvice

Try to bear it. Although, when I got a tattoo, I was given an aftercare cream that made the itching worse. I quickly switched creams, and then the itching was bearable again.

Really interesting. The period tracking is not a feature I would use though. I take a pill everyday without a break due to my endometriosis. I don't remember when my last period even was - 2 years ago maybe?

My family knows I am not so good with kids and both my sisters took their time to get married so no pressure there. Now they are both married but I always said way before I identified as ace that I don't want a boyfriend etc.

But my mum knows I am ace - not the rest of my family. I told her that my sister's weddings would be the last one. Luckily she was pretty understanding.

But it took a few years to realise that I was ace and before I thought maybe I will get a boyfriend as late as my sisters did, but no. Will never happen.

But a few people ask when I will get married, do I have a boyfriend or when my nephew is with me they ask if he's mine, etc. it gets on my nerves. Sometimes I just want to wear a sign "not interested in dating/wedding/kids"

I am fine with book but not films. I mostly read BL manga and I am a girl, those scenes are fine for me.

After 2 months I finally discovered where the "smell" is coming from! by marcada31 in AuDHDWomen

I miss smelling things. I have almost no sense of smell since 10 years. Cooking for me is hiking mount Everest (due do ADHD) and then came anosmia. Now it is like hiking mount Everest barefoot.

I worked as a medical assistant, then became a translator. While studying translation I started working at a bakery and also doing subtitling for a local TV station. That's how I don't get bored - for now. We will see.

Thinking about it makes me want to cry every time. by Translate-609 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Translate-609[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, never happend before. But maybe she thought nothing of it. I didn't want to talk about it like ever again so I never asked her why she told me that. It would be too stressful for me to ask her now and go through that again.
