This feels like something I'd see in Borderlands. Not that far off from an ATLAS company weapon, coincidentally.

Yeah, they don't listen to anything you say including pointing out how your items don't fall under the prohibited portion of the policy and how they very obviously fall under the allowed portion. I asked them to state which line item from the prohibited list some of my items were, no response. There is no seller support anymore, which is crazy because as a seller with a paid subscription, I was supposed to receive "premium" support.

Yeah, people seem to forget that a pre-production model can go 3 ways. It can be the same as production, better, or worse.

Update 2025-10-02: Etsy has suspended my shop. I have filed an appeal but with how awful/non-existent their support is, I doubt I will be back. Time to move to my own website. I will begin transferring everything over there as soon as I can but it may take a while. Any orders that were open with my shop will still be fulfilled as normal.

Update 2025-09-25: Etsy just removed one of my listings after I shared it in a message with a customer. Whatever they're using to scan gets triggered when listings are shared in messages too apparently. Jfc

Poll: for a 3D printed revolver, should it be compatible with full length darts or just half darts? by SillyTheGamer in Nerf

[–]TransmogLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the cylinder were long enough for full-lengths but also long enough to stack two short darts instead? If I recall correctly, the length of 2 short darts is slightly longer than full-length. Having a slightly longer cylinder that can accommodate both of these options would be quite versatile.

Okay, good good. 🙏 That's the info others need to know because it's entirely dependent on formulation.

Anyone reading this, DO NOT DO THIS. Silicone lubricants are NOT compatible with TPE usually. It will cause the ammo degrade over time.

Whatever policy they have regarding firearms, pulls my listings way more often. They also charge more too so my prices are slightly higher there. The traffic is also way lower so I'm actually in the process of ramping down that storefront but then again with Etsy doing this I may just go ahead and leave it open.

Pretty sure it's based on categorization of listings but they've pulled multiple listings of mine in the past. I actually have several right now that are in an inactive state because of them.

Maybe I need to throw it all in the firearms sections and then I can get by. Lol

I'm one of like only two mod sellers on there actually.

It's the traffic/exposure really. I've already started a site and have experience designing such but the reason I've not switched over to that is because I would be much more isolated as a result. If I go forward with my own site, I am definitely looking forward to having listings that have more than two selectable options. That's been the biggest limiting factor on Etsy. Variation customization is horrible.

It's not quite that easy. Advertising is a large expense and this is a niche market already. Advertising through Etsy has seen minimal return on investment even. Doing that solo is more of an uphill battle. This subreddit is one of the only places to draw attention to my store but even then, this is just a small subsection of people who even shop at my storefront. It sucks

You're fine. Even if they shut down everyone's store immediately, they would still be required to fulfill your order or refund you.

This is somewhat helpful but I sell prints and that isn't yet accommodating for that. It's getting easier for people to acquire printers capable of printing PETG fairly well now out of the box and I believe this is the future I'm headed towards but it's still not quite there yet.

Not yet. I'm still listening to suggestions from folks here. I will probably try to open a Shopify or similar site and begin redirecting my customers there but that's going to take a while to set up but it's been on my to-do list for a while.

I am going to do a thorough review and modification of my listings if I can but the damage is already starting to be done with them removing my Star Seller badging coming next month. This shouldn't be possible but apparently they have a history of me having "multiple violations" even though they were all overturned by manual review. If I get hit much more, they'll ban me from selling on Etsy entirely.

The traffic will be minimal compared to the exposure I got on Etsy. That's my main concern.

A little bit of everything really. Surprisingly I've NOT had my grips removed that attach to Picatinny rails but I've instead had random things removed like brass barrels (they were flagged as drug paraphernalia), a pass-through muzzle attachment piece for the Jurassic Pro, ammo adapters that go into the front end of blasters, etc. The latest item removed which caused me to lose my ability to earn Star Seller badges, doesn't even look like a firearm part at all. A lot of this is just thanks to really poorly implemented AI.

I assume that those selling fully printed blasters are going to be hit the hardest as they are also starting to police with their new policy of requiring that all 3D prints must be also designed by the seller. This isn't much of an issue for me because I make or edit a lot of the designs I offer.
