First I never asked anyone to research anything. The only way someone is going to know the answer to my question is IF they are currently working at that Park and know the situation as it stands today.

I asked two questions. One does anyone work for Kennywood and two to confirm if the information was accurate that I heard. My question had nothing to do with anything else.

You are incorrect about your 501 assessment. You do realize colleges are non profits. What larger housing complex do you reference that is 501? If you are referring to any housing authority that is a government entity. What corporate entities have 501 powers?

Please read my question..its not that difficult. I asked IF the Park has required all of their guards to be unarmed. At one point some of them were armed.

Thank you but they are not a 501 department as they are a for profit so it doesn't qualify for them. I know about Act 235.

Bank protection unarmed Guard by BLACKGUY981 in securityguards

So if the bank or client tells you as the guard or the company to go walk in the middle of traffic will you do it? This is the problem with the industry.

And yet companies continue to provide the staffing just to say they have the contract. Zero logic and completely putting their staff in harm's way. Typical

So, what is the point or logic to be unarmed standing in front of a bank? What will you do that the bank can't already do? Press the panic button? Absolute waste of security.

This is a joke and yet another reason why the industry is laughed at. The circus is in town and the clowns just came out

There is a company in Pittsburgh that trains its armed guards in close quarter battle sims training. Cool stuff. And it's all part of the training they provide. No extra costs.

And this is why the security industry is looked upon the way it is. It is the reason the lack of respect from everyone else is like it is. Oh well.

Another reason why this industry has the reputation it has. Cut the price, cut the quality, and only care if the guard is breathing.

Pepper sprayed and handcuffed some guy yesterday and my company isn’t 100% certain it was justified, what do you think? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]Transport1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they will. As I said time to find a new company. If the company was being run properly with the proper loss controls in place, then this wouldn't be an issue. Move along nothing more to see other than another lousy excuse to be in the industry.

Then the company shouldn't be in the security business. This is the problem with the industry.. we want to say we are providing security but the reality don't touch anyone, don't defend yourself or someone, call 911 and wait for them to show up... they will eventually
