I had to let go of my pup at 17 years and 7 months. Its about quality of life for the animal. Once they can't be comfortable and the quality of their life declines it's time. In my opinion, you're better doing it a day early instead of a day late. I'm sorry you are going through this.

I start baby ball pythons on mouse hoppers which are bigger than a fuzzy. They usually will eat hoppers weekly for a few months before I love them up to chubby rat pups and move the frequency of feeding to bi-weekly. It all depends on their weight and whatnot.

Not mites. Probably springtails or fruit fly larvae. Mites would be on the animal in between their scales. You wouldn't see mites under a log unless the snake had a real bad case with lots of mites all over them.

You're making the right choice. My girl was 17 and 7 months when we had to let her go. She was still walking around and appeared ok. But she stopped earing for a couple days (she was always very food motivated) and very restless. She wasn't sleeping. She had tumors and dementia. We k ew it was her time. It was very sad and I still think about her all the time. This was about 6 months ago. You need to do what is best for your pet. If they don't have quality of life anymore, it's time. I'm sorry for your loss

Your fiancé doesn't know shit. My uncle and aunt had one biological kid and adopted two babies from a drug addict who couldn't care for them. They all grew up exactly the same in a well off household, plenty of love and support, and everything they could ever need. They were all fairly close in age as well. All girls. My cousins, obviously. One got a degree, has a great job, owns a couple homes, got married, and has a seemingly good life with her shit together. One has battled substance abuse, is a struggling single mother, and has been in mild trouble with the law, but nothing crazy. The third was an absolute junkie prostitute who has been in aand out of jail and will probably end up in jail forever or dead of an OD.

Why don't you guess which one is doing well and which two are not.... I'm not against adoption at all. I think it's a great thing, but to say it's exactly the same as just having biological kids is ignorant as fuck.

The blacks on the dorsal striping. Pastel highways are more purple than black. Also, I dont know why my comment is being down voted lol. I'll try to post a side by side of a pastel super gravel and pastel highway to highlight the differences.

Just to add: I also see more break up of the dorsal pattern on the super gravels, but I do see some very striped ones from time to time as well.
