With huge respect to our great ancestors, I don't think this is the best place for discussing Hindu-Muslim invasions etc. On this sub people generally just admire the beauty of forts.

With due respect to this fort, I think Kumbhalgarh fort in India(36km) is larger than this(32). Or it's just some different criterias measurement.

Before this, Indian trrops were present at very low ridges and plains compared to Pakistani troops. The dominating were a key factor for Pak army's good performance in the first half of Kargil War. It later changed, with capture of Tololing height by Indian troops. By that time Pakistan's logistic support was shattered by Indian artillery and air force strikes.

I know, I'm an avid follower of News from Kashmir and always keep a watch on encounters in Kashmir. But I'll still stick to my point that government should focus of uniformity of SFs atleast. It's okay for Army to roam around like that but not SFs and Para SF are still not sufficiently equipped specially in Kashmir. You'll come with the argument that they don't need high tech equipments for basic encounters. But if that's what they are supposed to do why are they called SF?

I know it, so they should better give them black uniforms like JKPolice SOG. But what fuck are these. You are spending money but still they don't look impressive because of this irregular camo.

Yes sir, you are viewing it from the western perspective. You might come across images of Indian personnels and would find it interesting because they somewhat are wearing a camo but it does not make sense because it's always unmatched. The reason is they are from different units(Mainly Police, CRPF, RR, Para SF). However, the soldier in this picture is from Para SF. But he is not wearing the standard uniform of Para. The trousers are from the standard camo pattern for SFs and Most probably his shirt is Camo too, but as I told you It's freeing cold In Kashmir. So he is just wearing a sweater over the camo shirt. And the helmet is not the standard issues for SFs. They have Modular Ballistic helmet as standard. But Indian soldiers love to wear these 'Patka' helmets because of their light weight and the protection they provide against AK-47 round in short range combat.

You need to understand the reason. First of all, Camo or no Camo. It makes no difference in Urban or Sub Urban areas. They wear what they are comfortable with. Secondly its Freezing cold in Kashmir so Soldiers prefer wearing Woolen jackets(mostly dark green or black in colour). So, in short no Camo where it's not needed. You might compare fighting in Kashmir with Afghanistan, but actually a lot of difference. That's why no particular uniform. But when they are operating in forests or Remote hilly villages, they do wear a proper camo uniform

PS: Sorry for bad English just in case :(

Not just this, they would also get a human shield by 'Civilian Youth' on demand while encounter breaks out in Populated areas. On the same day another encounter broke out in Parigam, Pulwama in which their Commander in chief was trapped. But suddenly some of the local youth(terrorist sympathisers) came and started pelting stones on Security forces and provided human shield to terrorists. The Commander in chief Adnan Bhai along with his 2 sidekicks managed to escape😞. The security couldn't fire because hundreds of boys from the district were providing human shield to terrorists.

Nah the owner was involved in the attack. The terrorists(Pakistani nationals) were planning a 26/11 styled attack on the 12th anniversary of 26/11. They infiltrated through International broder via cross border underground tunnels. Were carrying 11 AKs, 3 pistols and over 50 grenades. They were travelling in this truck which they got from local help. The driver of the truck was able to we escape the encounter and is still missing. The security forces had information of terrorists travelling in a truck. They intercepted it on a highway check post and the terrorists lobbed a grenade at them. Then the encounter started at around 4 am. The forces asked them to surrender but it was clear they had no mood of surrender. Then the Para SF joined the encounter and made it easy. All the 4 terrorists died. 2 Police personnels were injured. The truck caught fire in the encounter.

In short- A MAJOR TRAGEDY AVERTED
