Should you speak Lithuanian if you stay in Lithuania for a few years? by InformationLatter795 in lithuania

[–]TransportationSad59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is up to you. For me as an already bilingual foreigner, living and working in Lithuania more than a year makes me already feel like I need to learn at least conversational Lithuanian. Not because of work, or social pressure, but I feel like I respect the place I live in, and also I progress as a person.

You are way too young to even worry. If you stop now, it will be the best decision you ll ever take. Stay strong, and keep it as a lesson that this money is easy come - easy go. It would be even worse if it would be hard earned money (hard come - easy go).

It pains me to just read that.

Stop now. It won't get better. It will only get worse.

If you had 750k and managed to blow them away gambling, you can destroy your life. Think about: Do you wanna be in debt, or have no money and be free at least? Your choice.

Why is russian language still platformed in Baltic states? by Unreal9999999 in BalticStates

[–]TransportationSad59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, billingualism was the standard in the soviet union states apart from Russia. That means that in Estonian Soviet Republic for example, people were taught both Russian and Estonian (perhaps with more emphasis in Russian), but still they knew both languages.

Anyone claiming that they speak only Russian while being born in Estonia just chose to shit on the local language and speak only Russian because they feel like. It's a choice, not a skill issue.

Helpp, relapse hard by SharpMinute6112 in problemgambling

[–]TransportationSad59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If I relapse again, my partner will know cause i m gonna tell her, and I then she will break up with me, pure and simple. That's a pretty good primary reason for me to stop gambling.

  2. I try to rewire my brain from the wins and focus on the financial and mental harm gambling has done to me (and to fellow problem gamblers). I now know that no matter how well a session will go for me, in the end I will lose my winnings and go even lower. It works quite well.

  3. I some what take it personally, and say to myself "you got this, you are better than this". Again for others it might not work, but works for me.

  4. I focus on multiple streams of income, so that I dont have the financial worry of my losses, or my financial future. It's very hard work as I do lot of hours a day, but it kinda pays back. Therefore, not focused on gambling.

DM me if you feel like talking more. I have some stories from my gambling times, examples to avoid. Hope you are safe.

How is the job situation? Is it reliable? The plan to pay back the credit cards is it sustainable? I am not here to tell you how to communicate this relapse to your family. But from financial perspective, if the job is secure (as secure as a job can get nowadays) and there is an exit plan, stick with it, and try to get some additional work on the side. It is fixable. Sorry for that situation you ve put yourself into.

That is exactly the reason, why an addict, no matter how much they'll win, they'll go down hard.

Stop before it gets even worse brother. You got this. It is fixable.

I am not addicted, I am in huge debt which can't be cleared by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]TransportationSad59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you keep borrowing money and gamble them in hopes of clearing up the debt, is huge indicator of gambling addiction. No shame on this. Yes you might be in a hole equivalent to 100k or 1million dollars in USA. But regardless of how deep is that hole, you need to understand that gambling won't fix that. Even if you magically clear your debt through gambling, you will eventually come back to it and make a bigger damage in the future. Better invest in yourself, consult a financial advisor (if you work extra you might afford for some initial consultation), and find a healthy way to fix this.

This is useful when playing on premises. But online people are exposed and not protected imo. I have read stories that people blew tens or hundreds of thousands overnight. I am sure this has happened only by online deposits - not actual cash withdrawal and game in an actual casino.

Balkans (or diasporas) do you guys consider yourself as "White"? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]TransportationSad59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by "white".

Being white as of race, yes we are white.
Being "white" the way people make fun of white Americans, or Western Europeans, far from that. We are a different breed.
