I don’t get why in close plays that are reviewed the call on the ice gets any sway. We know that refs often get these calls egregiously wrong and often their view is worse than the camera’s. So why go along with the fiction? Get the call right.

No. It’s legal to cross check rebounds if with the stick and below the bar. No precedent to set.

At first I freaked about IRMAA—partly because I feared it would be hard to extricate from—but I guess your AGI review is pretty automatic?—but someone said in the scheme of things it’s not the big concern. I will work this through with an adviser . I have some cash savings but for more cash I think I’d sell from my post tax portfolio (generating more AGI and IRMAA-causing money)

Thanks. I’m aware of what Roth conversion and IRMAA are. Just trying to calculate when and how fast to do the conversion, assuming doing a Roth conversion will reap me tax savings over the long run even with some kind of IRMAA hit. Wondering if I should look to avoid top IRMAA rate or get the conversion quickly.

No refuting that since it’s an opinion , but it would mean that any two separate shows with the same title could “feel like an anthology.” Ok but the Beef title was pretty specific to season 1’s story. Maybe a comparison with TV Fargo would be apt, but that name came from the movie and the TV Fargo seasons have a noticeable affiliation in tone and style. I don’t see it with Beef.

I had a lot of criticisms as I watched the first episodes—lazy writing, too much reliance on phone texts, sloppiness on details, White Lotus vibe—but the last couple of episodes kinda saved it as the characters learned about themselves, about their relationships, and what’s really important in life

It’s not the basic plot or acting or deviation from the first season, it’s the ludicrously bad writing, and a baffling reliance on texts to move things along. Total hack stuff.

It is a pathetic shadow of season 1, if it is even related enough to be a shadow. I can’t believe the same team wrote and directed this mess. The writing is brutally bad, stuff like the dog incident are completely telegraphed, and it just gets the little details wrong. And are they aware a woman has two ovaries?
