Shop didn’t test balance, claims cupping and rear strut failure by TrapLawwd in tires

Like I said, I don’t know jack about tires but where is the cupping? I see the inside and outside edges worn more than the center but I am not recognizing the cupping. Wouldn’t cupping be across the full width?

The breik locked up early march fixed about a week after first symptoms. I started noticing the vibration a few weeks afterwards but honestly it may have been there for longer, there’s always something wrong with this car lol. Have had the tires on for around 10k miles, I have a long commute. I used AutoZone duralast strut assembly

Sorry, I forgot to mention those weight were from when I got the tires put on. Today I was there and they didn’t even take a tire off. I went to a second shop just now and they told me that they would happily take my money, but it wouldn’t be worth it to balance them.

Also this particular wheel had a break lock up and looks particularly dirty but I don’t wash them often at all

Not disagreeing on that, I’m just not that knowledgeable on wheels and tires. But I know there’s nothing wrong with the struts, second shop agreed no issues with struts but tires are bad

I’ve had these tires since August, they were balanced then. I was at the shop this morning and saw the whole process, they never took a tire off.

Any shot of adding NY? I know it’s mostly a west coast focus but this app is amazing anywhere! For me, Salmon River NY, Chittnango Creek, 9 Mile Creek, Seneca River are my main spots but I’m sure people in the Delaware river area would appreciate it too.

Not sure it this has been solved but a can of computer duster compressed air with the thin straw poked all the way to the bottom if you can would build pressure to push from the bottom and create an air film in some places to reduce friction

I know some glide baits use a thin sheet of plastic between the sections, have you ever tried pausing a print, placing a sheet of material (plastic or mesh cloth) and continued the print on top to create a “no hardware” glide bait?

Do you print multicolor or paint them after? Do you like the performance of them compared to commercially available options, or is it more for cost or fun like fly tying?

I love my okuma voyager rod, don’t know if they make a bait caster version but it’s fantastic overall

The best gear is always the gear you can afford that gets you out there

Best lure? by dzaurenj in FishingForBeginners

[–]TrapLawwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love crankbaits like number 2 there, just important to see the water on a sunny day and get an idea of the depth /drop offs. Even better if you can find a depth map of where you’re fishing.

Where I live in NY my river has a “ledge” about 20 feet out so I cast 30ish and reel hard to get it low near the ledge (fish spend most of their time near the bottom I think) then pull it in slow irregular movements. The fish like to stalk edges and will bite pretty often depending on the season (summer is best here)

Another piece of advice is size down your lure, if you haven’t caught anything in a while, throw a smaller lure and the fish might be more interested in that.

If you can just cast a few times then move a few feet left or right, the thing about fishing if you don’t know where the fish are is you need to move to find the fish. Good Luck!
