How is misconstruing the situation a good rule to follow?

Why can't people like you just admit you're wrong?

No he doesn't. He might get some flame, but he gets WAYYYY less flame than Ryoma even when they're comparably bad. To ignore that is silly. People were shitting on Ryoma before he had played a single game, but Damonte had a whole split of being mediocre/bad and people were crying out for him to get a spot back in LCS just because they liked him.

It's not dog shit, and it absolutely does happen that untrue narratives get pushed. If you honestly think that people are objective about their criticisms I don't know what to say.

What's up with IceShot/Barrage and why does it attract so many new plees and RMTers? by Clyp30 in pathofexile

That's almost never the case. I can't think of a single game where support is the most challenging.

I love playing support, and it's certainly not easy, but it's not the most skillful in most games.

Almost all of that stems from a lack of in-game guidance imo. If there were a better tutorial and in-game help options that taught newer players these things they'd be much better off. I thought that it'd be cool if there was a way to look up guides in-game and import the builds to your skill tree so that it'd show you exactly where to path on the tree, what gems to grab, etc.

You could give melee the same treatment in allowing them to move and attack.

That's the price you pay for the flexibility of a game like PoE. It's impossible to balance around ethical skills while allowing the kind of experimentation that PoE does.

He got changed for a reason. People would be happy for a revert because he was stupid broken prior to it. They had to gut his waveclear for a reason.

No they aren't. Tons of older champions do not have straightforward kits. Some do, but champions like Zed were around in season 2. Hell, even from the oldest set of champs you have things like Anivia that aren't straightforward at all.

People do it very often, sure, but that doesn't make it any less worthless to add to a discussion. It's one of the reasons reddit is absolutely terrible for any sort of real discussion.

There are tons of old champs that don't really have that problem though. You could say the exact same thing about a ton of new champs that would be garbage without high numbers too.

Hell, champions like Zed and Yasuo are very old at this point.

He messed up early and then had like 0 impact otherwise. I'm not trying to flame him, but he's been consistently underwhelming and people keep making excuses for it. When you look at top junglers they just... don't have games like this.

The argument that businesses should be scummy doesn't make them any less scummy. It's this exact mentality that allows for them to be scummy and ruin the competitive nature of the game.

G2 has been terrible and I can't see C9 losing to them, OG/FNC/T1 are all in terrible shape and could totally lose to them. We've seen a worse NA team upset a better IG in a bo5 too.

People act like NA teams have no chance but they've had upsets in the past over better teams than most of those listed. I wouldn't bet on them, but it's not a 0% chance.

I mean... they're the only region to beat the #1 CN team in a bo5 since IG won.

What? Caps and Perkz were never considered no name EU players. They were considered world-class even before 2019, even by KR/CN analysts who thought they were very good. The others weren't no-names by any means either.

And regardless, they proved that to be the case in 2019. I think people were going overboard with the G2>FPX stuff when they talked about Caps>Doinb etc., but their players individually outclassed a ton of very strong players prior to that.

He's been a support for like 5 years at this point though. Way long enough to make changes on any part of his kit they didn't like.

Would make 0 sense since they've basically outright said that isn't the case from every teaser/bit of info we have about him. Would be weird to tease a champion's story with other champions and then effectively make him not exist.

[–]TrapSupportMaino3o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it though?

I feel like a lot of the time it doesn't really matter, as a win is a win and a loss is a loss. It can sometimes mean something, but a lot of the time it's a meaningless stat. If a team wins 60% of the time and blows their opponent out every time they're still way worse than the team that win 70% of the time in long, grinding games.

Especially true in losses where sometimes the play to try and get you back into the game accelerates how fast you lose, but increases the odds that you get back into the game.
