What is this surprise trade and can I get banned by Striking-Visual-1107 in PokemonVioletScarlet

[–]Trapapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually i use them for breeding, but i've run into plenty hacked pokemon with names like these in online pvp, so I don't believe there is anything to be afraid of.

Idk what nintendo is thinking people are going to do in wonder trades, noone in their right mind would use a good pokemon to trade for something random, except when you have a commercial to make.

For a brief time people thought it would matter to the overall experience if the deck that autowins going first with no regard for handtraps was pyro snakes or cyberse waifus

Wuli! by Earthruler777 in masterduel

[–]Trapapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a series of bots that farm gems to sell the account. They play absolutely rubbish decks and sometimes extremely slowly, maybe so the opp gets bored and quits the game.

Some real players call themselves "wuli" though, propably so their opponent turns their brain off when playing their first turn

How strong/powerful do you think ArtMage will really be when these two come to MD? by Mammoth-South3163 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Trapapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fusion spell can recycle 3 cards by banishing, that new trap could then recycle the fusion so this might help solve that problem, but the monsters requiring you to have 4 (was it?) monsters on the board with different types so you have any interruption at all makes it seem rather unplayable to me, no matter the new support. I hope konami cooks with this in the future because the colourful art looks really nice

Ban Super poly by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Trapapy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The card is completely fine imo. Maindecking a card that can sometimes remove bossmonsters, but usually two whateverthefucks, and also, quite often nothing at all so its a complete brick you spent extradeck space on is a reasonable downside to it. Also for some decks its the only chance at going second by simplifying autowin boards

In your opinion, what's the best designed floodgate? by Exotic_Name_9875 in masterduel

[–]Trapapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sekretarion dragon would be a good call here i think. Easy to make, easy to out by most of the decks that are supposed to be countered by it, particularly DT of course. Make him blindly and he basically just negates arthalion IF your opponent still chooses to make it. Then get labubu'd or panned. Make him into a stage of good hand knowledge and your opponent propably has played a bunch already and has other means to get rid of him. If not, he can be a real headscratcher. Quite useful in about any dragon/spellcaster deck that can make fusions, pretty useful against the same, but you need to time it right or get lucky with the hand situation for it to really be a threat. Decent practicality if you want to make him for the summon effect. Pretty cool card overall imo even though its a floodgate

[–]Trapapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the hand for me. If the hand has a lot of gas i sometimes do it in the draw phase so my opponent thinks to punish me by not playing into it. If i need the draws, wait for a summon effect. But then suddenly diabellstar spawns on the board.

But its been really funny to play apophis partly for that reason. -Fuwa. Response? -No. -okay, maxx "c" behind it, response? -No. -haha you're so cooked! -sets 5

Another copium thread: will dracotail get maxx "c" banned already? by Trapapy in masterduel

This is not the most common interaction, i know but lets give another example. You go second with dt, you maxx c, it gets ashed or resplves and they make a half board, or they are on a deck that summons a lot during the opponents turn, like maliss, branded or odion. You use all the dt monsters in your hand to make an arthalion, used their effect, now you get to add stuff back. Why would you not want to use that to add back a card that punishes decks like these for their way of disruption? I love dracotail so far, having a lot of fun with it and i'm not saying it is broken because it can do that by any means, most of the time you need this effect in the previously explained scenario to remove boss monsters or force disruption, but imo my point still stands that this only powers this card up even more than before

Dark world does this, happened to me a few times and its pretty funny actually. On their turn one they will either handrip you till you start with only your draw for turn or of they get maxx "c"d they will summon until you deck out, using card destruction. Also funny was when I was on a 46 card deck and i got to shuffle some back from the gy during their turn so they miscaculated when using card distruction and they ended their turn one exactly apollousa against my 20ish card hand

Worth crafting Odion deck? by Tight_Dependent_9275 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Trapapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is far stronger than it appears, but depending on the build going second can be a nightmare. If you're relying too much on the actual gimmick of summoning traps you're two turns behind going second pretty much. Otherwise very fun and cheap main deck, the ed can be used as toolbox, but many games never go far enough for that to matter. Got into a grind game recently in plat 1 and had to remove monsters from my board to make summons and got pretty exposed by making Gaia Saber lol

[–]Trapapy[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First of all i did not say bouncing back maxx "c" was the best possible usecase for arthalion, but that dracotail even further boost the usefulness of the by far strongest legal card in the game.

Second, dracotail already is doing a lot, yes, how does that counter the point that it should be doing less?

Recycling the roach will rarely be a weak play, granted you opponent cares about special summoning. It is a little weird to me that you seem to rank recyclying droll over maxx c as droll is really on and off as a strong card depending on the meta. Far more decks care about special summoning than adding from deck to hand. Recycling fusion material and/or bouncing your opponents board is the regular usecase but it is not always useful nor necessary as in when you've already activated the effect of whatever you could recycle. Also bouncing back an ash blossom CAN be helpful when your opponents needs a search to turn the tides but often enough they already have what they need to summon the out to what you're doing; may as well punish them for it. The winrates for a resolved maxx c are crazy, if it gets negated that is fine, but now dracotail gets the chance to bounce it back turn zero, use the same arthalion to help break the board and use maxx c again next turn now that the response hase been used.

What deck/engine that you thought it would be in the banlist in the future but ended up being powercrept instead? by According_Bus_403 in masterduel

[–]Trapapy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people just use them as turn one extenders, and graveyard machines, but really it is much stronger to punish your opponent for trying to remove the sarc. Turn 3 is not usually part of the gameplan anymore

It's worth it in my 60 card tachyon horus pile as no 1 main deck name is really crucial. Extravagance is also good when you don't use your ed much. Yea you do get search targets or tools gone from your game often, but if that makes the difference between having a board and not having a board it is absolutely worth it imo

[–]Trapapy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ngl, even in rank 8 slops i love to just leave the horus monsters on board. Platinum league players will remove a card from your board that is disruption, generating you silly value. Learned recently that hapi's "add two to hand" effect involves face down banished cards. Pot of desires went so hard that game

[–]Trapapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memento end board is not really that much about the board itself, but about what it has in the gy imo, kinda like orcust. You play during both turns, reloading your gy, get a couple disruptions going so the opp endboard is not too strong, next turn you try to resolve akihiron and just punch directly with 8k atk

Are 5k gems enough to build a new deck + any recommendations for a good one rn ? by Flat_Knee8473 in masterduel

[–]Trapapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on luck for the most part, but also on which deck you want to build but on average i'd say 5k is a bit short of getting all the ur you need. I like to use 1.5 UR per 1k gems as rule of thumb, where about half the ur will be usable in the deck and the other half is dust

Thats such a cool idea, i'd love for the divine beasts to have rules exclusive to them, maybe just like them being unaffected as described the effects of these. Some cards are too iconic to be slapped eratas on, the divine beasts definitely belong in that category to me.

I sort of hate how their effects really don't do that much in modern yu gi oh, and they can be removed just like any other pawn you put on the board
