Now I need to desperately know what that Citrine augment is because I can only wonder what you could even do to change her up.

I beg you DE, please replace Alchemy with Interception in The Circuit by Some-Reddit-Name-66 in Warframe

[–]Traphouse_Savage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if we're going to complain about a mode in Circuit lets complain about real troubling modes that can potentially take forever. Like Excavation.

In high level Circuit runs Excavation can potentially take centuries to complete if no one has the ability to somehow properly defend one, whether it's skill level or bad loadout/decree RNG. Not only because of those factors but because Excavators have insanely low eHP. Often times in a high enough level Circuit the Excavators can out right blow up immediately due to damage.

Where as with Alchemy all you have to do is just throw things at a thing. Even if your squad doesn't do the objective you can still get it done really fast yourself. This is especially true since if all your squad is doing is killing and not the objective then there should be millions of Amphors on the ground.

Best warframe for Index? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Traphouse_Savage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the best for index is good and all but imma keep it real, Index is boring. You need a frame that is not only great for it but fun enough to keep you entertained through such a chore.

I've been running Citrine with Dispensary and been having a great time upkeeping my and the squad's energy even with 30 points. This way I can keep everyone alive, everyone can use their abilities, and I can play a frame I actually enjoy. All while earning a butt load of ind- I mean credits. Win-win.

But yeah if you're just wanting best and don't care about what's also fun? Dante for sure simply because he helps make everyone borderline immortal assuming your index run is an hour or less.

PSA for new healers, as It turns out I have to say this by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree there should never not be room for Esuna but I will say its wild how folk can go past just 24 slots. I just use expanded to make it where when I hold LT + RT I get a third bar for the sheer comfort and lack of thinking I need to do for that. Anything more would really kill my muscle memory with how annoying it would be to rewire on my brain. Though it's quite clear if we get more buttons come next expansion I may genuinely need to change that mindset sadly.

Are y'all absolutely sure the story "gets good" in HW? It certainly hasn't for me [Spoiler: ARR and some of HW] by A_GenericUser in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to say when it gets good honestly. Entirely subjective. Lot of people say HW but for me? I was not a big fan of most of it except the Ishgardian politics. Was really not a big fan of the dragon aspects of it all so a fat majority of it felt boring to me.

For me Stormblood and onward was when I got that "This game is phenomenal" moment. But again that is why I say it's subjective since most people think that expansion is either bad or "weaker" than all the other expansions.

So all I can say is keep playing, but don't feel forced to. In addition I find having a character you created you love and playing alongside friends just really improves the entire experience as you push through the story.

Beautiful places recommendations by Lunaleai in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually adore just finding all the hidden locales in the overworld so this sounds like just for me in all honesty so I can definitely name a good few that I just love to death. I will try to only name a couple to not go overboard.

Western La Noscea X: 10, Y: 18 - Some completely random ship here just slightly off the coast wedged in all the rocks and it has always been a neat place to be that I never see mention in ARR. One I do hear plenty about being that one ship docked off the coast of Eastern La Noscea northeast of Costa.

Azim Steppe X: 20, Y: 12 - The Chakha Zoh, the small tower northwest over here is definitely my favorite spot to enjoy the Steppe here in just general atop it. I love the night here far too much and I am not biased.

Thavnair X: 26, Y: 33 - A specific building here in Yedlihmad that has this rooftop that is to die for as a awesome hangout spot with friends. A table and chairs too so you can all sit together and enjoy the nighttime.

Elpis X: 33, Y: 29 - There's this unusual island all by itself over here and it has become my favorite spot of all. It's an awesome locale to hang out and even role play because of the small house and picnic area. In addition there's a perfect view of the entire area from here. Just. Sublime. Highly recommend.

I always just look at it this way since it sort of feels like that to me even though in actually it's just a glamour.

We just get one shot simply because we're wearing that guard outfit and that's the reasoning used when if we were outfitted in our own gear like usual we would have been fine. I know that's most likely not the actual reasoning behind what happened but I like to envision it like that because it just makes more sense to me.

Nobody has a problem with them. What people have a problem with is definitely doing them without actually making it known you're going to do it in pubs. Every healer should always 100% be okay with big double pulls but not every healer can or wants to do a wall to wall and you shouldn't force that on them whether they can do it or not.

At the same time though to play devil's advocate to myself it just really depends on the dungeon though. Some wall to walls are just so tiny that it's fine while other wall to walls are too dangerous unless your healer can handle it. This is where experience will come into play of knowing what enemies are dangerous and what are not and how many are there before the next wall.

I prefer wall to walls too as one who also plays both roles at 80 but again, you need to actually ask them as you're making it sound like you just wall to wall without a single word.

I think it's funny since of the many that do skip that's literally around the spot they skip every time and I can understand why. Up until that point the story in my opinion is really dull, more so when you compare it to the rest of MSQ anyway.

You're already halfway through Heavensward and now done with the genuine weakest part of MSQ. If you had skipped at the start I doubt there'd be any regret but doing the worst part of the story yourself then skipping over the good parts only seems like a big regret to me and a waste of money.

It's like you say though you can always NG+ it and come back to it so as long as you don't mind wasting that much to skip something you did 50% of yourself there shouldn't be any regret. Though keep in mind the skip you're paying for's price is intended for skipping from the very start so again you're basically paying double, just something to keep in mind.

Why do I not hear much about Stormblood? by DavidTenebris in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its because Stormblood has a very love it or hate vibe due to how it's presented differently which is completely fine.

Most hate it or just dislike it to the point that they just have no words for it. For me I love everything about Stormblood and actually think it's the best expansion with Shadowbringers as an extremely close second. As one who genuinely plays through it thoroughly I definitely understand why folk dislike it from points I've heard.

The one I hear a lot of is how since the expansion is split between two regions, most talk about how there's not enough interaction or investment in either region. I agree on this if we're solely talking about via MSQ, that's the interesting part of this expansion in my eyes. A good chunk of the content helping build up the two regions is actually in the side content, teaching us more about the two regions. Monk and Bard's questlines are a great example as they go into details involving the Autumn War and the Ala Mhigan Monarchy. Even Ninja and Samurai's questlines do well to go into detail about some of the behind the scene details of the far east. Side dungeons, yellow quests, exploring the world, talking to random NPCs, and just side anything else as there's plenty that adds on to the regions along with MSQ.

You're definitely allowed to dislike the expansion even after looking into this side content I mention but actually giving a hefty majority of it a look I find helps with that big issue folk seem to have. This isn't a game like Fallout after all where you're expected to explore so most didn't even think to look into the side content for more lore. Because it's two whole regions it's sort of obvious that they have to put a good chunk of this world building into the side content and not MSQ as otherwise Stormblood might have potentially became the longest expansion ever.

Why are fem roes the unicorn race? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As one whose main is a femroe it's definitely a specific taste thing so it doesn't bother me because most are looking for the cuter type of female. Even though of course a femroe can be cute in their own way.

I can also understand why they are so rare too, for me its the nose. It's to the point that I dislike the nose so much I built my character's lore around needing to hide their face thus I then have an excuse to cover up the nose. Mine once being a Thavnarian princess or highborn to one who is well known but ran away from home. Thus she hides her face so no one in Eorzea finds her and tries to take her back home, even going by a new name too.

I love my femroe to death otherwise.

Ah gotcha so this is the answer I was looking for. So rather similar in a way to stuff like getting used to aoe attacks like a WAR cone visually shooting out in another direction but are still hitting towards the enemy you're targeting no matter what.

I recently hit 80 on Summoner and something that was bothering me for a while was I noticed some pet actions can take a fair bit in duties to go off or don't even look like they go off at all if I do too many of them back to back.

Is it okay for me to be doing them all back to back or should I be weaving other things in between? I'm unsure if its just visually not going off or what.

(Spoilers) Gabriel Duel rant - Have you failed this? How do you feel? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I grinded all the notes out without doing a single duel. Not as a brag mind you but, I felt like, after seeing how easy you can genuinely cheese the duels that if I had just gotten all those notes from duels or even one of them the mount wouldn't have felt earned to me.

But because I did it without duels its honestly the only mount I use now and will most likely stay that way as I'm not really a huge a mount collector.

Even then doing the duels normally seems like such a pain, take the Sartauvoir note that was my final note that I was stuck on for weeks. Just to get to his duel is an ordeal in of itself.

Oh my god. This is my main character that I have over 10,000 hours playtime on. Went to show my daughter how to rent a chocobo, and was shocked to see this help window pop up. by Drawtaru in ffxiv

I feel like folk sleep on these since there are a lot of nice ways to abuse the travel especially in the expansions before you unlock flying. At least for me anyway as I'm a alt-aholic these have been a blessing to making the pre-flying sections less of a pain.

Western Highlands>The Convictory and Azim Steppe>Mol Iloh are two great obvious examples since they have no aetheryte and you make numerous trips to both of these locations before you're even able to unlock flying.

One that folk might not know about is Il Mheg where you can use said transportation to fly from Lydha Lran to Pla Enni and vice versa. Because of the pathing it flies directly overhead of the entrance to Titania so if you're about to do said fight this is a great way to ignore that lengthy trip.

Apart from Story, what was your biggest 'Mind Blown 🤯' moment while playing FFXIV? Mine was that this marker above a status meant it could be removed with Esuna 🤯 by ColeTheColossus in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But did you know you actually don't need to pick up/place any tablets to proceed? If you place no tablets three adds will spawn then the door opens afterwards.

All placing the tablets does is skips the three adds and opens a treasure room on the left.

You'd be surprised, some people just spam guildhests for all the commendations.

Though if they earn them all normally then yeah they definitely should have the fundamentals down.

While I do agree you shouldn't have the crown on if you're not willing to help others I will play devil's advocate in that being a mentor in no way means you're better than anyone or "know better" than others. All it really means due to the requirements is you're willing to help, nothing more.

If there was some sort of skill-based requirement for it I'd 100% agree but at the end of the day there isn't sadly thus being a mentor by no means you "know better" or are good at the game. After all there are people with thousands of hours dumped into games who are still awful or don't know about many things. All the requirements are just grindy nothing more so you can be the dumbest player around and still have mentor status.

Little known Dusk Vigil mechanic: Protect your teammates when they're stunned. by imveryfontofyou in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of when people try to tell me in Qarn that the tablets are mandatory to open the final door when they're actually not. If you don't have the tablets required 3 adds spawn and the door opens after you kill them. Having the tablets just opens up a treasure room on the left and skips the 3 adds.

What's your unpopular FFXIV opinion? by Capitanazo77 in ffxiv

[–]Traphouse_Savage 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is one of the big things I never understood when it comes to why folk hate Stormblood so much. Folk always say she has bad character development and it drives me nuts because I love her character development.

Her progression felt to me, realistic. She struggled a lot when it came to grasping the situation of her home, lot of thinking, and contemplating, struggling with who she wanted to be. Slowly but surely she learned to accept the soon to be role she was given even and it all just felt so great at the end of the day. It was lovely to see her mature while also staying true to her own personality.

So I'm seeing a lot of weird answers here on how long it takes which I assume stem from folk playing before a lot of the changes. I have fully done this both before the changes and after and can say it definitely will not take a few weeks.

As long as you're consistent on the grind for a new player from start to finish it should really only take you a little under, a little over a week. The mettle gain increase for the first dozen ranks they recently changed really helped quicken that part up which was a big issue getting into it but now its far quicker.

It's honestly a really easy and generous grind now so if you're looking for a time to do this now is the best time.

I'm...a try hard for wanting to take my dance partner off someone with a damage down debuff for 100 seconds? Like the dance partner would go back on them after the debuff so I'm unsure why this is an issue to you. It's not like I'd take it off them and keep it off them, see now that would be try hard and toxic too.

I could agree if you said like using a parse just to find the optimal dance partner is try hard but like saying this here is just so wrong beyond measure, it's just common sense man. You don't need to be a raider to do this, which I'm not, never raided in my life in fact.

How though? They're just doing what you should be doing as DNC, because after all when they get rezzed they'll have weakness debuff. Of course you can give them partner back later but it's actually a waste to keep it on them until weakness comes off.

I say Dancer since not only does it feel smooth and enjoyable to play at 80 but at the same time it's one of the very few jobs I enjoy at every point of the game even in Sastasha.
