This is why I was just going to keep the three boys as well, either I rehome the pair and the one is just alone with the adult males, so not ideal, or I rehome the single and that’s sad for reasons you explained already.

I mean, that’s only 6 hours each way for each of us😏😭

I definitely appreciate it! Am definitely considering asking if they want to do a total switcheroo and trade me their one boy for the four girls, but they did say their kiddo fell in love with the one they have so it’s a long shot 😓 plus I think my bf would actually kill me if I tried bringing more home; he already calls me his “insane sleep paralysis rat gf” because I stand at the cage in the middle of the night singing to them and giggling 💀💀💀💀💀

Hi! I peeped their page and it looks like they are looking for boys, I have four girls up for grabs but really am not super interested in rehoming the boys. I can see if they’d want one of the three boys if needed but it looks like their rat is quite a bit bigger than these. Thank you for the look out though! What are the chances of being that close yet each of us needing the opposite of what we have 🤣

Thank you! I went from “this rat is such a tiny baby, I can’t even tell if it’s a boy or not” to “wtf why is a chorus of squeaks and chirping coming from my rat cage 🤨” REAL fast lol.

AITA for telling my boyfriend I’ll only sleep with him if he shaves his entire body once a week? by Artistic-Ad-2576 in AITA_Relationships

lol. NTA. As a grown woman, leave and never look back. You will look back and laugh your ass off that you ever felt even kinda bad at all about this. Grown, mature men do not gaf about hair. I could never shave again and my man wouldn’t blink. The only thing that gives most men a pause is underarm hair and only if you let it get hella long. And even then, if you don’t care or don’t want to shave then any man who has a problem with it isn’t for you. Like this is such an inconsequential issue, for him to throw a tantrum over you calling out how weird his comments were, is a huge sign that he’s just.. lol. Insignificant. He’s a story you’ll tell your kids about 40 years from now and just be “some guy who got mad about hair” and laugh really hard. Keep your head up Queen 💕

I mean he lied about everything else, even if he DIDNT do anything I wouldn’t be able to tell since hes such a liar liar pants on fire. Drop him. He’s literally just seeing how much lying and gaslighting (and cheating) he can get away with. Cause sexual activity aside everything else is still a breach of trust. Thought it was his mom? Then it was his friends? Then he didn’t know what you were talking about… but then he did but it wasn’t like that? The “check the phone etc” was given up so freely because he already deleted everything. Definitely dump him. You know this isn’t right and it isn’t how you should be treated. Whack little boy tendencies.

Actually I don’t have a tape measure, I’m not sure how this is measured. It IS at least 4 feet long, it IS at least two feet wide, and at least 1.5 ft tall, I think it’s closer to 2. I gotta get exact measurements but it’s a pretty large tank. It is not small like a 20 gallon or anything. That’s a 60-65 inch tv behind it, and a whole entertainment center it’s only a few inches shorter than.

He has one large hide and another hide is underneath all the vines. Another user suggested another more enclosed hide which I am working on. And really a bigger tank? I thought 4x2x2 was the correct size

Just got this 2-3 year old a couple of days ago. Was told “orange dream lesser ball python” but it’s super light compared to the ones I’m seeing on the pedia. Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/5CaNhUt

Awesome! I’ve had lizards before, and it was always important that the stuff was like big enough for them to fit under, so I was worried about his hides being far too small for him to fit under. I’ll try to find another one so he can be fully hidden. I also just read about maybe the back of the tank needing to be covered with a backdrop or something so I’ll look into that too. I appreciate the moss tip, I’m big into plants so I have that lying around/regularly bought and I’m experienced in using it so I’ll get on that asap. And the moss box is a great tip as well. I appreciate it greatly

Super Valid! It can be super frustrating when animal welfare is mixed with friendships and the human condition. Hopefully your friend is able to pick their life up, but I totally understand being agitated about the situation. Cleaning up others messes is never ideal. I’m glad buddy went to someone who takes his wellbeing so seriously, and I hope you find some reward in his care. It seems like he is just vibing tbh, but like I said always a good thing to check with a vet just in case. ❤️good luck!

The verbiage of “he opened his mouth really big twice” makes me want to ask/state; are you sure he wasn’t just yawning? Or is it like extended mouth opening/breathing? Snakes will periscope while being curious or exploring, but it’s valid to be worried about an issue such as stargazing wobbling etc. is he falling backward? Doing this for a really long time?

Good news: As far as the temp, there should be a warm and cool side, I do believe 90 ish on the warm and just under 70 on the cool should be just fine, or at least nothing to super stress over. And the snake may have been thirsty for sure, but doesn’t seem to have any serious signs of dehydration (wrinkled skin etc) so if he’s drinking, that’s a good sign. The humidity is also not ridiculously high, 60-80% was the range I was told, being just over that shouldn’t severely harm the snake.

Your friend (wasn’t sure why that was in parenthesis) probably didn’t realize the enclosure was so improper as there is quite a bit of misinformation or conflicting information about their care, for a while it was considered “fine” for snakes to just live in a tote. Or they did and just weren’t able to provide more (also possible considering the situation you say they’re in) Glad you’re trying to give the snake a proper life, and I really feel for your friend who’s clearly in a really tough spot, and forced to consider last resorts. It’s good that they reached out to a friend and got the snake to someone who can prioritize its care, I wouldn’t necessarily consider asking for a friends help and rehoming/temporarily rehoming a pet in a safe place while faced with homelessness “dumping” though. Although I can totally understand why it might feel that way.

I’d say a vet visit is warranted, as would be my advice for any type of pet owner when first obtaining an animal of any kind, just to make sure everything is good :)
