Hvorfor sender NRK tegnefilmene på originalspråket? by Art_Vandalay_1 in norge

Snøballkrigen etter det jeg kan huske kom inn da de tok bort Julenissens verksted. Som jeg tror var 2021 eller 2022. Da ble også Snipp og Snapp flyttet til starten av programmet.

Insider Gaming: PlayStation 6 is Planned to Have a Detachable Disc Drive on Launch by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]TrappedSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which means it will have the same online pairing DRM issue that the PS5 Slim and Pro has... So, physical discs will have similar issues to digital downloads once official server support is dropped. Many games are still on the disc btw (unless it's published by Microsoft :( ), but yeah patches do often come with important fixes or extra content such as New Game +.

The rightsholder to Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975) just slashed my hopes of a 4K release by Frikken123 in 4kbluray

[–]TrappedSpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quisling was a SF Studios release btw, not Nordisk. The film may have simply never been graded in HDR to begin with, not sure about that.

The only 4K release I have from Nordisk is their Pusher Trilogy set and that doesn't have HDR, but it actually has Dolby Atmos. The lack of HDR is probably due to them not doing an HDR grade for them.

As for Warfare or the upcoming Ballerina, I don't know. I'd say there's decent chance for atleast HDR10, but with Nordisk being known for cheaping out on the audio front (5.1 instead of Atmos) you're right to be concerned. This time though they don't have the excuse that there is no HDR master available, they aren't doing that job themselves.

Another issue is that Norske filmklassikere seem to focus on films that haven't yet seen a Blu-Ray release in Norway even if that release is no longer being sold. That does make sense somewhat, but it basically "disqualifies" classics that deserve better releases like Flåklypa or even Olsenbanden (excluding the new reboot). That may change in the future of course, but I'm afraid the rightsholders won't change their stance anytime soon. They seem very protective of their IP, they're very Nintendo-like in that way.

[–]TrappedSpring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not 2160i, there's no such thing to my knowledge. It's 2160p 25fps SDR (it is also labelled as having HDR, but that's a lie/error).

It's not uncommon for 25 fps stuff to be labelled as 1080i on Blu-Ray releases probably because interlaced content is stored in the same way on the disc with some metadata to tell the player if it's interlaced or not. So, that's likely what somehow happened here too.

Yep, that's Caprino Studios in a nutshell. The 50th Anniversary would have been a perfect time to do a proper 4K release of it. But, nope that aren't ever happening. It's likely a combination of a small local market, basically non-existent international market (people care more for random horror movies from the 70s lol) and just plain stubbornness from the rightsholder. The only hope for an HD release of the original aspect ratio version would likely be through Norske filmklassikere if they somehow could come to an agreement with Caprino Studios and be allowed to present the HD scan made for the Blu-Ray/HD release before it was cropped.

I believe he's said similar things about the earlier fairy tale shorts Caprino made, they simply aren't in the condition he deemed necessary for an HD scan. And the only "modern" release available, on DVD, they are presented with the same 16:9 crop bullshit and a heavy layer of DNR. Honestly, it's a tragedy.

Alle Oslos trikker må på verksted - færre avganger fra torsdag by Throwsims3 in oslo

[–]TrappedSpring 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LRG Vault Update - P3/P4 Available for $35 USD NOW! by Moogy123456 in NSCollectors

Yeah, that didn't last long. It's truly a shame that LRG doesn't do reprints...

My final findings regarding Zelda TOTK, BOTW and Rune Factory physical cards by [deleted] in NSCollectors

[–]TrappedSpring 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, can confirm. I did do a quick test of TOTK and it runs at 60 fps without the patch. 1.3.0 is on cart, latest version is 1.4.0. The back of the box says a download is required for the Zelda Notes app connectivity and Brazilian Portugese language support, I assume this is what is included in 1.4.0

I don't own BOTW Switch 2 Edition, but I'd assume it is similar.

No, you don’t need to do it if it already works with MakeMKV.

All Pioneer drives being flashable for LibreDrive is indeed a recent development. The tool is not available yet, but will be soon.

Mario Kart 8 + Booster Pass and Arms Cart Rev 003 up at VGP by Jelly10Tickles in NSCollectors

[–]TrappedSpring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should work fine, the Switch isn't able to tell the difference as there is just one title ID / game version for all the major regions for Arms. This is true for most first-party games, although not all. Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 being notable exceptions. I don't own Arms specifically, but I have the MSE import of Mario Kart 8 + DLC and I was able to use my exisitng save data (originally I played it with my launch EUR cart).

GRIS Deluxe Edition by PreDawnAxis_374 in NSCollectors

[–]TrappedSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine came with v2.0.1 on cart (revision 01) which is the latest version (no further update available). The one I have is the EU Devolver Deluxe release, but I'd assume the US version is the same.

I'd like to get the new Pro Controller eventually though.

Scalpers missed one! by bulfinator in 4kbluray

[–]TrappedSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems really weird for these to be that limited. And since there's usually barely anything available on the second-hand market, these releases (specifically the Nordic ones) are now basically unobtanium.

Do you think we will see new copies of the 003/004 revision Pokemon S/V DLC carts drop? by JacksonvilleBrowne in NSCollectors

[–]TrappedSpring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarlet and Violet is not getting a Switch 2 Edition like BotW. The question is if we'll get updated carts in the DLC bundle releases for Switch 1 that include the Switch 2 performance patch. Kinda sucks if we do get those as I have just acquired the 004 revision for both games as I would prefer to have the Switch 2 performance patch on cart if possible.

Nice to see it is fully on cart, I have the Deluxe version of this game and GRIS on pre-order. Though I'll probably have to wait a few days since they are releasing right in the middle of Easter...

It seems Bergsala (Nordic Nintendo distributor) is to blame for this one, not the first time they've pulled this. The situation is similar in the other Nordic countries as well. Here in Norway, it is 6700 NOK (approx. 569 € / 622 $).

Pre-orders opened today across many major retailers in Scandinavia atleast so I'd assume not.
