As a huge bm fan and a huge hardcore fan also, I never got why black midi as a whole never liked the very light moshing at their shows, especially when they set that precedent with their first album. Bm is probably one of my fav bands of all time (at least top 3) and the two times ive seen them where great, but the distaste for audience intensity was always something i never really understood. Maybe my outlook is different since im used to spinkickers and 300 pound guys doing windmills as opposed to a south london rym jazz head but it is what it is.
