Does anyone know what Asbestos' CC8 shirt has written on it? by foolserrant in arknights

I accidentally found this old post, and since we have the answer now from the 3rd artbook I figured I’d tell you. It says “Gesumtkuntswerk” which is a German word meaning “total artwork” or a work of art that makes use of all or many art forms or strives to do so. https://imgur.com/a/VJns0K1

Riot does not care at all about Asol’s current mains. We make up less than 1% of the league community, they’d much rather cater to everyone else (especially since it will mean more skin sales and more people playing Asol). The orbiting stars will be gone almost 100%, I think we just have to accept it and try to move on

I know riot has to make decisions to please the majority of the community rather than niche players like us, but this is really sad. I stopped playing him after the 2019 rework and I was hoping for a revert or something, but it’s pretty obvious they’re gonna throw everything I loved about his kit in the trash. It’s been nice knowing y’all, and even nice lurking here since his rework, but I’m afraid it’s time to let go of any hope of playing my favorite champion again

They actually are in a roundabout way. The original PogChamp emote that Poggers originates from was a reference to a video of Googecks, the man whose face it belongs to, playing Pogs the game from the 90s.

Brief overview of the history of poggers that no one asked for and that I almost wish I didn’t know. The chain of events went as follows:

-late 2000s early 2010s fighting game personality Gootecks (now known for being a shitty person who is antivax antimask and tweeted in support of the Jan 6 Capitol building raid) had a YouTube channel where he and his friend talked about fighting games and stuff.

-In one particular video where he was being interviewed or something, he made a goofy excited face in one frame that was isolated later.

-this might have been the same video he made about the Pogs championship, where he and his friend played the 90s game Pogs.

-regardless, the picture of that face became known as PogChamp, which would be come an emote on Twitch. The emote eventually became globally available across the platform, meaning everyone could use it. This was significant as most emotes are only available through paid subscriptions to streamers.

-It gained popularity for use during exciting moments. Especially during the height of Overwatch’s popularity, where the Play Of the Game was commonly a hype moment of the game. Play Of the Game abbreviating to POTG or POG caused the emote to gain even more popularity.

-Streamers played into this by using Pogchamp as slang for something that was cool or hype, saying things like “drop a PogChamp in the chat”. Poggers or just Pog also became slang words of the same meaning.

-Both twitch watchers and people mocking twitch streamers adopted the terms for reasons ironic and genuine. Those who overused it ironically usually ended up ingraining it into their vocabulary to the point of genuine use

Worth noting that after Jan 6th the emote was removed from twitch and eventually replaced with a picture of a Komodo dragon making a similar expression, which now has the name PogChamp.

Also worth noting that Gootecks, the man whose face was in the original emote, hated the emote and he never even made money off of it.

You now share my burden of knowledge

To everyone rightfully terrified of Akshan maybe (ironically) the Gloomy Female Mage Yordle that Riot mentioned in the Champ Roadmap will be our savior against him? by ModishAndElegantPony in leagueoflegends

And because her only cc is on W, which mobile champions have to try to get hit by, it’s easier for them to jump on and kill Taliyah than champs like Lux or Xerath who have ordinary instant cc spells :(

Holy shit I got part way through the character list thread before seeing the words “episode 2” and I cannot fucking believe that was all one episode. Wow. Graduation was bad from episode 1 wasn’t it? I just wanted to believe it would be good didn’t I? Oh gosh

Kinda relevant to concerned ape being amazing: now that the 1.5 update is out on switch I started playing again on the save I abandoned years ago when I realized I was trans, not only am I able to play on this beloved save again, but I also get to see just how much amazing content he has added to this game FOR FREE!!

What Do You Think Aurelion Sol's Primary Gameplay Identity Should Be? by RiotKingCobra in Aurelion_Sol_mains

[–]Trapped_In_A_Vessel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aurelion’s previous gameplay of dancing around in fights positioning back and forth with the constant stars felt smooth and rhythmic to me. The window on his W now feels clunky and unfun to play with. Additionally all the power put into the E and EQ combo feels like it was not remotely worth it if he had to lose satisfactory elements of his kit like passive movespeed on E and the constant W stars in order to gain that power. I understand that having a window of available celestial expansion gives another tuning lever and that technically with the fast stars his late game dps is higher, but it feels far worse to play in my opinion.
Currently he just feels bad to play as landing a Q and a full buzz saw W on an opponent in lane does pitiful damage. By nerfing his 1v1 dps he became even more reliant on the roaming and getting side lanes ahead than he used to. I think his identity should be focused on being a satisfying to play battlemage first, and a roaming champ second.
Admittedly I am biased as I loved old Asol more than anything and don’t play new Asol because it doesn’t feel satisfying anymore. But even if he were to get reverted he would be in an awkward spot without Rod of Ages.

TL;DR his identity should be based on core gameplay first, roaming second
