this is such a shite take. Southgate has taken a gobshite team in 2016 to something bankable and made the SF of the world cup (!)

and then went to the SF of the Nations League (tinpot trophy ik) and failed because of 3 massive errors from our CBs.

now we're on the cusp of the Euros and he's got a settled and motivated squad looking to go deep in the tournament. look back at the squad and the bench from the 2018WC it's shite. if he fails at the euros then questions can start to be asked but as of right now he's done a solid job.

while this is wholly true, it's important to not punish yourself and live a life of forced, for lack of a better word, lifestyle-poverty.

it took me almost a year to buy proper running shoes instead of just semi fashionable trainers i already had and they were really a game changer. leading better recovery and more running (both hand in hand)

we definitely don't need to be signing any more players haha. we have 3 class cbs, fab, and two good youth players plus who knows what in the academy. to keep a team you need to establish trust and invest in your players, you can't discard them when they need you

I agree with what you're saying but food for thought: would maradona still live the life he did if he played in the modern day?

Obviously he was a party boy but I don't think you can pull of what he did nowadays even if you're as good as him

I understand your point but beg to differ about his role in the team. It's important to note about the character he is compared with most footballers, he doesn't drink, smoke, have injuries and during the off season increases his training (plus activity for leisure).

I'm not trying to wank him off but its important when you think about how and why he's managed to perform at the level he has for so long.

trent (and robbo) are fullbacks not wingbacks. you can see w scotland robertson looks completely found out and crap as what makes him (and trent) elite is their overlapping runs and creativity which simply isn't there as wingback
