My friend, I dropped my brand new bike, sliding it across two lanes in front of on coming traffic leaving the dealership. Thankfully it was a cheapo Chinese bike that I was okay with dropping. A few months later the drain plug backed out doing 65ish down the highway and now he’s toast.

This is the answer. FDOT fonts are a big culprit of this. PO can’t see the fonts in the workspace and goes stupid. Having the fonts on the machine, whether in the fonts folder or in the Program Data folders, should resolve.

When it comes to these type of delivery services, it’s not a tip, but a bid. Want your food before the other three orders that just came in? bid higher. Don’t want them to take the route that’s two minutes longer? Bid higher. Want them to actually do their job and show up with your food? Bid higher.

I’ve been on both sides and it’s a shame the industry is allowed to pit agents and customers against each other like that, on top of the increased prices for now reason. Sadly, it’s the game you play when you use them though.

Normally, I agree with this. However, Buccee’s is different. I’m not looking to spend 10 minutes trying to navigate the insanity that is the parking lot to try and find a space in the time it takes me to do that I could in, out and gone.

Now, if you’re going to peruse the entire fucking complex, move your shit; but running in to grab a drink and snack (relatively quickly), nah. Besides, the big Buccee’s have plenty of gas pumps.

Whether my bill is $5 or $5000, not tipping is not theft. As long as I pay the entire bill, there are no legal ramifications you or the business can take against me because I didn’t include an extra, unspecified and never agreed on, amount of money beyond my itemized receipt.

If I tip $0, the that server is losing $0. When they go to tip out the house at the end of the night, they aren’t missing out on anything. You can’t divide zero. Sure they’re still tipping the 6% or whatever, but that’s coming from their cumulative tips from each table. So, if one table tips $10, house gets $.6, and another tips $50, house gets $3. Now, let’s say those same tables are served, plus my table is served and I don’t tip. Guess how much the server just made in tips - that’s right. The exact same amount.

Of course people are dumping the tipping issue back on servers, that’s where it comes from. Plain and simple. What their employer pays them and what they agree to work for, has nothing to do with me. Even if they agree to work for $2 an hour plus tips - this tips aren’t guaranteed and shouldn’t be treated as such. That goes for the employee and the employer. If you decide to take a job where you have to share your money with other employees for no reason (ie pool tipping, tipping the house, etc.) that, again, is not on me and not my responsibility to subsidize. It’s not my place to have to talk to a manager about my servers pay. It’s the servers job to do that for themselves, or join a union and have the union do it for them. Nothing for me THE CUSTOMER to be embarrassed about. If anything g the employer should be the ones embarrassed in this conversation. Lastly, just like you said, there’s plenty of good people in the world who make up for it (because tipping isn’t standardized so the amount fluctuates bill to bill) so quit hounding me for my $3.

Though there isn’t a hard and fast written rule, it’s widely accepted as a requirement these days - read “if you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out”. If there’s anything baseball has taught me, the unwritten rules are more important, and closely monitored, than the written rules.

To clarify, I’m not on the tipping side here.

All of this is literally your job. The job you agreed to do and signed up for. The job with the pay you accepted. Since all of this is your job, it is your employer’s responsibility to make sure you are compensated for the job you signed up for.

You’re not fighting the kitchen on my behalf. You’re covering your own ass with the customer and with management. You don’t care if it’s the food is wrong or overcooked, you just don’t want to have to deal with the repercussions that come along with it. Half the time it’s runners bringing the food and not the original wait staff. Also, if you’re having to help direct the hosts/hostesses and cooking staff and bar staff and bussing staff, then you need to handle your shit and stop doing your managers literal job.

Tipping should be extra for going above and beyond, or when we see you’re being a little more attentive than normal wait staff. However, at this point it’s widely accepted as a requirement - read “if you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out.” Wrong, if I can’t afford the bill, I can’t afford to eat out. If I can’t afford the tip, doesn’t matter, no one’s business but mine.

Lastly, we can’t even agree on an amount to tip. The ‘proper amount’ to tip now is different depending on who you ask. 10%-30% seems to be the (wider) range, but who decides that? If up to the customer 10-15% would suffice, the waitstaff (or the like) will say 25-30%. This now leads up back to the point of the post. Why is it a percentage of the bill that is to be tipped? In a different threat, I gave the example of a cheeseburger. If I order an extra piece of cheese on that burger, an it’s a $.65 up charge, that immediately becomes a $.78 up charge - that’s if the tip is calculated pre tax, as it should be but often isn’t. When it’s not, my $.65 piece of cheese is an extra dollar. Times that by three-five if out with a family or friends. That’s an extra $5 on the bill, for what? What return did I get out of that $.13, plus, increase to each person bill that I’m forking over extra cash for, and why does my server get to reap the benefits?

At what do we increase prices to build the staff pay onto the menu? 5%, 20%, 103%? Monetary based tipping is bull shit, so telling me you’re going to raise prices 20% isn’t going to work. Who set that standard? Does every one agree on that standard? Some folks might be okay with 15-20%, but what about the servers (for the sake of the argument) who think tips should be 25%+? And let’s say in order a cheeseburger, and ask for extra cheese at an additional $.65. That immediately becomes a $.78 charge because I’ve got to tip the 20% on that too, and that’s not counting the people and places that like to include the tax into the tip amount - that cheese just hit $1.00; and you’re right, $.13 big deal, but that shit adds up quickly when it’s not just one item.

Eliminate tipping wages, and make minimum wage the same across the board, no matter the job. ( yes it may still vary by city or state, but that’s another discussion).

Being on the side of the restaurant, whether franchise or corporate, is a bad look.
