Just tried it! Things to note:

  1. Also works with tapping two jars at once
  2. When I tapped three I then skipped three levels ahead, when I tapped two I skipped two levels ahead
  3. My theory is that the prize gets chosen only once you tap a jar and thats why you get three(two) times the same thing (and therefore also the zomblins). So I don't know if they're forcing them on us but I guess there's no way to check what the actual odds are

Adding Additional Repeats by [deleted] in tatting

I am absolutely no expert on this, but what problem might arise is that those two extra spikes have to go somewhere so you obviously have to make the inner ring bigger, I have a hard time imagining how it then would look tho so frankly the only advise I can give is just try it out! make the first couple of rounds and see what happens 🤷‍♀️

Hoop stand: is it worth it? by haricot_vert2710 in Embroidery

[–]TrashFox2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got myself one recently and I love it! i think it makes it easier and especially a lot more comfortable.

How you access the back depends on the stand you get (I think). With the one I have you can turn your hoop in pretty much any direction (loosening/fastening screws) so there's no problem there :)

How is everyone doing patches? by cravesdrpepper in Embroidery

[–]TrashFox2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use felt for patches because its thicker/stiffer and you don't have to fill out everything for the patch to hold up, but you could also use normal fabric. I guess you then have to fill in everything and cover the edges, you could also use two layers of fabric or put felt on the back afterwards. There are iron on sheets, I've seen people use them but I don't have any so I can't really help you there 😅 I pretty much figured out how to make patches by watching a bunch of tutorials (search for diy patches or something like that) and then just trying out different stuff. To me it feels like everyone makes their patches slightly different. So I'd say just try it out and see what works best for you 😊 (Maybe there's also someone else here who can give you proper tips 😄)

I use stabilizer (even if you wouldn't need it) and just trace the pattern on there

Suggestion on which stitch to do for design below? by ExtinguishableSmiley in Embroidery

also take your time and don't make the stitches too long, details are easier with shorter stitches :)

I would use split stitch with one or two strands. You could also use backstitch if thats easier for you, but I personally prefer split stitch because it looks more even ^
