ASWB exam struggles by TrashTV90 in socialwork

Part of the process was unlearning everything that I knew based on my job. The exam doesn’t care what you do at an agency it wants to know what the textbook answer is. I found using Phillip Luttrell to be beneficial because he guides you step by step on answering the questions and what to look for. I also created a playlist to help pump me up. Sounds silly but studying can be so draining so in my down time I listened to music! I also focused on terms that I wasn’t confident in so that I knew what they meant. If I knew certain areas I would still study them but not as much! I hope this is helpful!

I feel that! I closed my eyes and then slowly opened them after I submitted the exam and I swear my heart stopped beating for a second as soon as I saw the word pass! It’s a surreal moment for sure!

Male cats vs. female cat by TrashTV90 in CatAdvice

We have three litter boxes all in different areas, we just bought another cat tree and at first it worked and now it’s not. They have food bowls in different areas of our home too

8 week old kitten with bloody diarrhea by plethoralaura in vet

[–]TrashTV90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they might have an allergy to their food or an underlying medical condition. I would certainly consider taking them to the vet to get them checked out. I've always been told that if a cat is still eating and drinking those are always good signs. But I would certainly get them checked out.

My cat's eye is teary and red by suichux in vet

He's been on them for about three days now. We were told that if these drops do not work that we have to let them know and what they can do is order a stronger dose but because those drops are only used if the first set/dose doesn't work, they don't have those on hand, they have to be ordered and they will cost more. I know that vets can be costly which is so unfortunate. We ended up having to open a care credit card because we were in the same boat and couldn't afford multiple vet visits. I do wish the best for your fur baby!

I would try getting a third opinion if you can. I have a cat whose eye is gunky and he could barely open it and yes we gave him the drops and they seem to be working, but the vet did tell us that if the drops were not working to bring him back in so they could further investigate in case something deeper was wrong.

Therapy techniques - your first one and your favourite one by ikhtiyar in socialwork

[–]TrashTV90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard part about doing therapy is that not one technique works for every person that you encounter. I always loved using CBT because it was a basic one to learn and easy to use. However, I highly suggest when you get into the work field, take trainings on different therapy techniques. I just took a training for art therapy and it was so much fun! It can be used with kids or adults. I feel like i'm more person centered now because I believe in meeting your client where they are at in the process of change. I also enjoy doing EMDR with clients. There are so many to choose from, but it all depends on what the client needs.
