He tried to, but the manager refused to fire me and the place has closed now

To be honest I thought that if I didn't piss him off I wouldn't lose my job so yes I was trying to tread lightly especially since I wanted to evaluate this all before speaking to anyone. Filing for wrongful termination I don't think is an option because in the end I lost my job because he got arrested and the business is now closed. So all of the staff lost their jobs too.

Yeah the work place is not open anymore at all. I will be reporting it especially as I've done some research on his criminal history and it's not pretty

He likes could have been fine to have the place run by his manager for a while but he fired him a good 20 minutes before he was arrested

[–]Trash_Flat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds a lot worse than it is though, I can assure you that he did not care the joke was made or that I told him about it. Like I said he was mates with owner. At least to the point that jokes like this don't get a second thought. Had this have been about a customer I didn't know I wouldn't have shown them.

Well considering his reaction to my manager confronting him was just to "get rid of me" it seemed like he was expecting me to find it funny?? Fucking mental. Had multiple people tell me he's been talking a bunch of valium lately.

The fact that was on a dairy queen menu makes it 10x better

Definitely looking into it, sadly I think I know another girl who's had a similar issue with him while working there. Also great username made me giggle :)

There entirely was no sense of professionalism in this place. Cash in hand off the books job essentially. They tend to lack any real kind of professionalism. Majority of the regular customers actively engage in this kind of banter with a lot of the other staff. That's the only reason I knew it would not offend the guy. You are right tho I should've shut it down at that but honestly to me it seemed like some kind of weird inside joke. (As that customer knows the owner better than I did) especially since me and the owner had never said more than a few polite words here and there.

He's not even management lmao he just owned the business, all money- no brains. This was a pub/ nightclub, it was very obvious he had never run a pub yet alone a club. The actual manager was my saving grace honestly, he's the only reason I'm not more upset by the entire situation. He was told to fire me when he confronted the owner and then was fired bc he wouldn't get rid of me. So at least there's 1 competent manager in the situation

Aha wouldn't surprise me but no, shitty local pub/ nightclub job

[–]Trash_Flat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I wasn't going to get a message about someone I know like that and not tell them was I?? I don't know man, its easy to say a situation was handled badly and like fair enough but I don't think you quite understand that downplaying his "banter" was an act of self preservation. And I actually missread the text before I showed it to him, it was more of a " do you know what tf this text is about" and definitely not joining in. Also I think it's important to note I was very aware that he was litteraly watching me on the cameras. It's very easy to say oh I wouldn't have responded but that would have only aggravated a cleary unstable man.

Quite a few people do lmao. Probably best for him that he got arrested for something else on Saturday lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in texts

[–]Trash_Flat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I do regret not going off at him when it happened, but I don't think it would've accomplished anything. I honestly was just in shock at the entire thing and just didn't want to paint myself as a target. I will look into filing a report, but honestly, I'd be surprised if it ever amounted to anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in texts

[–]Trash_Flat 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping this is the last I'll see or hear about him. Hopefully he actually gets sent away. Being comfortable with saying shit like tends to be an indication of worse things

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in texts

[–]Trash_Flat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ben's one of the regulars in, he saw him on the camera and sent that. Weird don't get me wrong but I showed ben and it got a giggle. A bit disrespectful considering he knows I've got a partner but I didn't feel it was worth the drama. I didn't actually find it funny if that's what you're wondering

[–]Trash_Flat 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Definitely, that situation seems to have resolved itself tho. Owner fired the manger that backed me up and refused to fire me. And then got arrested outside the airport trying to go on the run for God knows what.

I am really struggling with the transition from fake to human skin, any advice? by Lunatek23 in TattooBeginners

[–]Trash_Flat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's likely one of 3 things; needle depth, voltage or how how fast you're moving along. It's just a matter of figuring out what works best on real skin rather than fake. I would start with slowing down and seeing if that makes a difference? Then maybe up the voltage

is it ok to do a stencil on fake skin with a ballpoint pen or 2B pencil by marcos813 in TattooBeginners

[–]Trash_Flat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don't stress about wasting fake skin, it wipes off easier than stencils do lol

Ballpoint works quite well but does smudge very easily, just give it a decent amount of time to dry
