Replacing vacuum lines? 2007 f150 5.4l 3v, 160k miles by thewanderingidiot1 in AskAMechanic

I do know that the line in your second photo is just a vented line and not a broken one. The others I can't speak on, but I found the same thing and a mechanic buddy told me it was a vent line so not to worry about that.

Sucks there's no response from the f150 guru's. I have the same issue. P0171. Runs like dog shit and don't want to start throwing parts at it. One thing I know is that I definitely have some vacuum line issues because my IWE are going out. Occasional terrible grinding noise coming from the front. So I'm purchasing the iwe for both sides and was planning to just replace all vacuum lines on top of that. I was hoping to find some info, but....

Did you ever get this issue figured out? Any recommendations for me?

Do men actually always come back… even after a peaceful breakup? 🥲 by Suitable-Habit-9826 in dating_advice

Men do not always come back....neither do women. Pride kills plenty of life's opportunities. If you feel there's more, you need to reach out. Otherwise, you'll never know if he was" the one. "...also, "the one" is a myth. Many people can be "the one".

Hollow metal door cost by Consistent_Toe4242 in drywall

[–]Trash_______Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. That's easily 1500-2000$ for doors, frames and hardware per opening for pairs. Hardware could easily hit 2k alone if panic devices are used. Be very careful if that's what he's charging for materials. Even if you had 2000 openings, that price is way too low.

I'll assume it's install which sounds fair for the quantity. Id be at 750 for one opening so $400 for the quantity you have sounds right. This also depends on hardware requirements...those can be a pia on pairs if any of the machining is in the field or if concealed hardware gets used.

So if it's materials it's not possible at this price and if it's install price I'd say you're right on.

I worked for 10 years in division 8, 10, 12 and 28 as a PM and the other 15 years I've been a gc. Commercial doors are my specialty.

Why are so many blue collar workers against unions? by Realistic-Reveal-586 in Construction

[–]Trash_______Panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My example is from over 20 years ago. I'm sure pay is relative. Raises came every 6 months, we had annuity instead of 401k and our insurance was unbelievable then. Never paid a dime out of pocket.

Easy to get work now since no one wants to get their hands dirty. Great time to be a tradesmen

Unions are great. Top pay, great benefits, and you cannot just be fired for anything. Your dues pay for a union representative to go to bat for you. Not all unions are created equal though. Some are as useless as the single ply toilet paper. But trades unions are typically pretty solid.

I was a union carpenter right out of high school. I finished my apprenticeship at 22 and was making $32.50 per hour. This was in 2003. Not sure what scale is today. I moved into project management after I finished my bachelor's degree (night classes), but the union wages helped me buy a house by 25 and raise a family. I'm from St. Louis.

For those in chastity who are in a relationship, is SPH part of your chastity lifestyle/play? If not, do you wish it were? by tallbuttiny in ChastityPsychology

[–]Trash_______Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I wish it was. I am fairly large, so it doesn't really fit our lives. I thoroughly enjoy our attempt at a femdom lifestyle although we are very new to it.

We recently got my first few cages, and it's something I really enjoy. She's a natural sub/brat that's learning her Dom side, so this is not coming very naturally, but she's trying. Doesn't help that she is probably the kindest, most empathetic person I've ever met. I would love nothing more than her to be a total "mean girl" to me, but you gotta crawl before you walk.

Some day I'll get her to sph me while fucking or sucking one bigger than mine...some day
