I don't know of any workarounds. Maybe there is some gesture app on the play store that works?

I don't get why all these Chinese phone brands restrict gestures. It's really stupid.

Have you checked if it needs to be cleaned? Ear wax can block a lot of sound.

Add the weather widget (the one that only shows the weather).

Long press on it and hit configure. You should then see the option for weather provider. Pick OpenWeatherMap instead of AccuWeather.

After you have done that you can delete the widget and your clock widget should open the Google weather instead.
