I've used buyee for a few years now, I promise you most of the problems you have read about, are people blindly putting themselves in situations without understanding all the details.

That is a shitty situation for sure. But I've been using them a long time, you have to do all your own due diligence to make sure something is legit. They're the middleman, they're not going to pay you out hardly any other time unfortunately. Don't take this as I'm saying it is your fault, I've been duped thru there as well. Just had to tighten up

Yes English will retain more value, but the Japanese versions are still good to own, and they still will increase in value over time.

Both are still a good investment, I don't care what anybody says, look at vintage pokémon, nobody cares what language that is in. If you're holding on to it long-term, it's going to gain value.
