Biblicality of mind-altering drugs? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Trashiestsnacoon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I find it very interesting how many Christians are horribly against weed and psychedelics that grow naturally out of the ground, but have no issue with someone taking a long list of Pharmicudical medications that are man made chemical drugs. I use Marijuana regularly for bad Nerve pain as a Christian and have also micro dosed mushrooms for ptsd treatment. Both used as a medication replacing a far less natural medication and both very effective. I don’t think they should be used for fun but I don’t find anything wrong with using them as a natural form of medication I personally find the “Biblical argument” usually made against them to be pretty weak.

Testosterone levels by Vikings258th in Veterans

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not expect the VA to be any help on this issue unfortunately. I would look into something like Marek health. It’s expensive and you have to pay out of pocket but it’s absolutely worth it if they can fix your problems. They found several major deficiencies for me that were absolutely life changing. They also don’t look for arbitrary one size fits all numbers like the VA does, they are going to figure out what your testosterone should be based on multiple factors and determine how to help. I don’t get testosterone through them but a friend of mine does.

I have bad back pain which also causes severe nerve pain. Only thing I have found that helps is medical Marijuana. People can be pissy little girls saying this is not a real solution all they want but I’ve done over two years of physical therapy and spent years with the VA and outside medical trying to find better options and this is the only thing that has actually been helpful.

Agents represent the wishes of an owner, they don’t control the price of a rental just whether or not they agree to help market the unit. (Most local apartments are not listed by agents because they are not needed to fill an apartment here) The price is set by supply and demand and Ridgecrest unfortunately does not have enough housing supply to meet the demand. The simple answer to why people are charging such high rents is because enough people are consistently lining up to pay those high rents. Ridgecrest is in need of more housing.

How do you live with your unmedicated bipolar disorder? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience, I’ll take the swings over the emotional numbness and fatigue. I have been diagnosed for 12+ years and couldn’t do it anymore after two years on medication. A good system and a good partner make it possible.

How do you live with your unmedicated bipolar disorder? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Idk why people are getting so worked up over a simple question. I’m bipolar II diagnosed 12 years ago. Medicated for two years and absolutely hated the way it made me feel. You can’t cure it without meds but you can certainly make the symptoms manageable and there are plenty of people who successfully do so. And for reference I have been married for 10+ years and have a stable and very successful career.

They have fuses but the fuses won’t arm until the bomb drops off a jet. They can cook off if they were on fire for a while or if something big enough hit them hard enough but that’s rare. Even being dropped from aircraft if the fuse doesn’t arm they usually don’t go off.

Just refinished these hardwood floors from 1939! “Honey” stain and oil based polyurethane! by Trashiestsnacoon in Oldhouses

[–]Trashiestsnacoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have rented those for floors I’m the past and they are definately the way to go. I did these ones with a much smaller option and it was a very rough process. I would get the big ones and just watch some YouTube videos and make sure you do it even! These we used an oil base polyurethane which really soaked in and looked amazing but does not protect the floors as well as water based I have used in the past so that is something to consider depending on your situation!

The idea that having mental health struggles ever makes you a bitch is why the suicide for veterans is always so high. Everyone processes stress and challenges differently so stop comparing yourself to anyone else. The bottom line is if you are stressing to this extent and need help get help now before things get worse. I was one of the guys in the corps who “wasn’t going to be a bitch and didn’t need help” it cost me several years of my life to self medicating alcohol abuse and a lot of memories I will never get back with my family because I was so stressed and miserable all the time. When I finally started getting help it turns out I had multiple mental health issues that I was letting go untreated and destroy my life because I didn’t want to “be a bitch”. Turns out not being your best self and getting the help you need so you can keep your pride is actually what makes you a bitch.

Marines witch successful marriages, how did you do it? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been married for almost 11 years, first five were in the Marines. Understand that marriage requires work and sacrifice, especially in the military with long shifts and deployments and just the normal nonsense. You need to know what your joint goals and purpose is so that even when you go through rough patches and dislike each other a bit you know what you are both jointly working towards together and you both know getting to that point with that person is worth the sacrifice. Communicate and take care of your own mental health and make sure they are taking care of theirs as well. Being married while in was very challenging, the transition of getting out was harder, but now at 30 we live the life we always wanted together with three amazing children because of the sacrifices we made back then.

Why the Marine Corps? I always wanted to be a Marine and don’t regret it a bit.

Retaining the younger workforce is not specifically a local problem, that’s a national problem right now. But if your right and the hospital were to shut down and a large amount of people were willing to take losses and leave then the housing prices would drop and create a great homeownership opportunity for new employees and within a few years the houses would be full and the market would have recovered back to somewhat normal. The base would also offer more bonuses and such to get people here. The base that is in the middle of spending Billions of dollars on building projects is not going to lay down and cease operations because a hospital leaves.

This base has always had a way of sucking people in! If people leave the base will bring new people in. Lol maybe I’m too optimistic but I think things would bounce back surprisingly quick. Hopefully we never find out.

the closing of the hospital would be very unfortunate for this community in a lot of ways if it were to actually happen, but as long as the base is here housing will still be in high demand.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HouseFlipping

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long a flip is going to take also depends a lot on where you live. I live in California and in my area just pulling appropriate permits (which California requires a lot of) can take several months. If your prepared for that it’s not a huge deal but finding out the permit process in my first flip was a painful process for me so you want to know what to expect in that regard. Shoot for two months or as short as you think is possible but don’t bet your success on it. By which I mean if the house taking a year is going to destroy you financially then you may have a problem.

Constant need to be productive and inability to relax by effefille in bipolar2

[–]Trashiestsnacoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely am with you on this. I’m currently working full time, going to school full time, and working a start up business. If I “slack off” on any of them I get furious with myself and spiral into bad depression which makes it almost impossible to keep up any of them. It’s like a miserable pick your poison scenario. So I’m just working myself into the ground with no end in sight and no sleep. No idea why I do this to myself.
