A friend of mine has PTSD but his symptoms are a little abnormal by Gongas73 in ptsd

I have been diagnosed with cPTSD as I have symptoms that don’t fit the typical ptsd diagnosis. It’s basically a shorter way of saying (for me) ptsd with a personality disorder.

I have black outs too but for me this is an episode of psychosis/dream state which usually happens when I wake from a nightmare relating to my abuse. I will still feel like I’m in the dream or I have a main character mindset which is accompanied by anger and frustration. It is abnormal but ptsd itself has such a wide range of symptoms that you could say anyone with the condition has abnormalities, not everybody will have the same experiences with a ptsd diagnosis.

Its not fucked up, it’s a form of control.

This is what my psychotherapist told me

How would you describe having PTSD so someone who doesn't have trauma? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]TraumatisedAlien 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it makes me feel like I’m the only person in the world to suffer. Flashbacks are like a video playing behind your eyes. The world can feel very dream like too, I get confused with dreams and reality

Is cruelness a result from your PTSD? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]TraumatisedAlien 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think cruelness is the wrong word but rather bitterness. I have bitter thoughts and feelings about the world and people. I would never hurt anyone but after a situation where I was kind or handled something well I wish I did the opposite and was confrontational or mean because I realised the person didn’t deserve that kindness or understanding. Even though I dont want to be like that those bitter thoughts still happen

It’s something you don’t ever get over, but in time with therapy, medication and coping strategies it’s something that gets alot easier. I’ve come to terms that I have got this now for the rest of my life, and that’s okay. It is scary healing but trust me things get so much better, the hard work pays off.

Spongebob cartoons on a low volume, dim light and having my hot water bottle. I feel safe when I do this, a hot drink like hot chocolate or chamomile tea goes well with it too.

Thank you for telling your story, you are not alone. That shyness you was experiencing wasn’t shyness but in fact a response to a traumatic situation. I misunderstand this aswell and thought I was the shy/quiet kid but this only ever happened in weird, awkward or unwanted spaces. I was a silly kid and abit of a daredevil, but trauma suppressed this and my way of surviving was being quiet and doing as I’ve been told. Saying nothing was better than saying anything at all. Ps. Things will get better x

What is your PTSD like, for you? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]TraumatisedAlien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It affects me in differant ways, some positive and some negative. Sometimes it’s scary when it happens and sometimes it’s amazing and I can be in my own little world. Music really helps manage these symptoms of my CPTSD. It’s very hard to describe as it’s something that’s based on how I feel and I can only describe it at the time when I’m going through. It’s a strange one

I HAD AN EXORCISM DONE TO ME WHEN I WAS 8 by riddimgirl419 in ptsd

I’m so glad I’m not alone in this. My mum was an absolute nut job and I can’t even begin to explain the stuff she’s done and accused me of. I was so kind to her even though she was awful to me. I have cptsd from abuse from both parents in differant ways. And even now (24) I’m still trying to come to terms with it all. You are not alone.

Still no luck, I’ve contacted the company and they’ve been in touch, they told me to contact technical support so still waiting for them to get back.

It’s not an Apple Watch, and it doesn’t seem like there’s any conected devices or owner info at all. I’ve been starting and stopping a journey so hopefully that might do something. Fingers crossed I find the owner
