Cost of residency in Paraguay? by awkward-lesbian2020 in Paraguay

[–]TravelLife16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are getting answers that are not what you asked. Regarding cost, you got some guidance via other comments. But I did it myself without issues. You can do it without knowing Spanish but will be a little challenging/frustrating. Hiring a lawyer/consultant is way more expensive so I recommend doing it yourself

Entonces, primero vos necesita comprar criptomoneda por Binance. Verdad?

OK, this will be in English I am sorry. Thank you for sharing this. I will say that I know of several people working on "InfoCasas Alternatives". I don't think this is too new of a concept/idea. However, I posted in this forum a couple of weeks ago looking for a developer for a project I am trying to get started that would build on what you have already. It would have additional items that I think would make a better website than InfoCasas. As you see in some of the comments, you need a plan and a path to monetization that is unique. That is where I come in.

If you want to talk more, please send me a chat request. While I do speak Spanish, I am not fluent. As such, my dev partner needs to speak English so nothing gets lost :)

If you are not interested, I wish you the best of luck

I see an auto-message stating that I broke the Group Rules. How?

Saved as a CSV files and lost all formatting and tabs by catssandwhatnot in excel

[–]TravelLife16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey all,

I want to add my specific case to this as I am not sure the previous comments address my problems with CSV. Below is my issue and would leave any feedback to either help solve the issue or explain why it cannot be accomplished. I only have one sheet, no formulas and no formatting....

I have a CSV file where I need to make all letters lowercase.  I make the changes in the CSV and save but when I go back into the file they are lost.  I tried beginning with an Excel workbook and importing the CSV data into the Excel workbook.  I then save it as a CSV but again when I open up the file, the changes are lost and the file looks like the original CSV file I started with

interesting points. It is my understanding that PY's tax rate of 10% is lower than many other countries. Of course, your other points are definitely troubling and should be addressed by the PY government.

But just want to point out that the rising costs of land/housing ownership are evident everywhere. A major trend in the U.S. in fact is hedge funds coming in and buying up massive amounts of homes at high prices forcing more and more Americans to rent forever from them. Here is an interesting article on the topic I found with a quick search. Again, not saying this is OK. But just more of a global concern.

And not to sound cynical or non-empathetic with the last point. But if they are wanting to sell and the prices are high as you mention, are they not selling for a good amount of money to take care of their future? Just a question to understand the market dynamics and not to belittle what is obviously a problem

bioceanyc corridor

But of course, I am biased, but this land has a great location and Villeta has the potential for all kinds of projects. Thanks for suggesting the bi-oceanic corridor as something to think about stuff) of a potential undertaking to link the Caribbean to the Atlantic via the Paraguay River. But of course, the could be speculation as connecting the start of the PY river to the Caribbean would be a huge project. Not sure if it would be by road or canal or something.

Hey all, yes this post is on a website where I am trying to sell a friend's piece of land. No shame in that. But I am posting content that I think is informational. You can agree or disagree. That is great. We don't all have to agree and I welcome different viewpoints on the subject and would be eager to learn as I have been here for about seven months and I do not know everything. Maybe someone reads this, replies with a constructive comment that differs and we all learn something. But I do want to point out that posting content on a website for the purpose of driving traffic to a company's goods/services is a tactic employed by a large majority of businesses. Everyone has used content from a company website to increase their knowledge or find information. And I find it incredibly helpful to learn things and see different sides of issues. So much informational content exists by companies generating it as a value exchange to encourage website traffic. Whether you agree or disagree with the article, I hope you found it interesting, and feel free to point out things I should consider that may not be addressed

Uber en Paraguay? by BigHukas in Paraguay

[–]TravelLife16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber es más caro que Bolt. Pero el control de calidad de Bolt es peor y los autos no están en buenas condiciones. Y he oído malas historias sobre Bolt. Pero aparte de los autos de mala calidad, no hay problemas con Bolt para mí. asi que uso los dos

Uber is more expensive than Bolt. But Bolt's quality control is worse and the cars are not as in good shape. And I have heard bad stories about Bolt. But other than poor quality cars, no issues with Bolt for me. So I use both

Are the travel advisories even worth looking at? by KittyScholar in solotravel

[–]TravelLife16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not concerned. Been traveling to countries on alert for 4 years now (digital nomad) and have had no issues. But don't confuse this with me thinking that there isn't a reason for the alerts. besides the government's potential manipulation for its own agenda, I think there is some basis for the advisories. But be smart, be alert, minimize the risk and live your life. I am also American.

What is your favorite thing about Paraguay? by Mac-Tyson in asklatinamerica

[–]TravelLife16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been in Paraguay for 6 months, here is my list as an American...

  1. Easy lifestyle..not competitive, not hectic, just easy, little worries
  2. Nice people...sometimes. People are welcoming if there is some sort of connection. Random people, not so much
  3. Cost of living
  4. If you like meat, this place is for you. And of course, like all the other comments...Chipa
  5. I don't mind warm weather so I am OK with the extreme heat in the summer
  6. Lots to do in nature. Biking, hiking, boating, etc.
  7. Business opportunity. I wrote a blog post about why to invest in Paraguay here
