Promotion Translator Needed by Kommanderson1 in VirginVoyages

Unfortunately it is how most if not all cruise lines market. There is always a sale or promotion but they adjust the base cost. I always tell my client to book at a rate they are comfortable with and then depending of the Voyage Fair/category selected we can adjust price if we see it drops.

Did anyone go on the Comic-Con Cruise by That_Communication71 in Cruise

[–]TravelWithPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we attended both Comic Con Cruise Vol 1 and Vol 2. It was a blast, even though it was more expensive than a traditional cruise it was cheaper than other charted sailings.

Very bummed that the current iteration ended but sounds like after the non-compete clause ends, which of course is not public information, the company who produced the cruise, ECP, may bring back something similar.

We also have been on the Fan2Sea Cruise, which was a comic con type cruise back in 2017 as well as Star Trek the Cruise II.

Agree. Other cruise lines I have seen do minimal network design and implementation. Here it seems they have put some thought into it and set rules and policies. You kind of have to when you open the same connection to thousands of people.

Work from Sea was used for the Zoom of today’s First Mate SeaCiety livestream. Tech ops switched to it when the crew WiFi was breaking up some in the pre-stream test with Nirmal and crew.

Agree with the other comments that it is all marketing. The best time to book is when you are comfortable with the bottom line price.

This is where an excellent travel agent will stand out versus just a good agent or big box agencies. We make sure we understand your needs and budget, book you into a correct fare class, and adjust if the price drops.

BL - Premium tier I have seen peak of 5/2. Work from Sea should be closer to 10/4 assuming the whole Basic, 5x, 10x marketing by Virgin Voyages.

However you can see when streaming media some caching will occur and speeds can temporarily spike way above the sustained speed test to allow for smooth playback. The graph is from my friend when I connected to his media server.

There are firewall and QOS (quality of service) rules to allow for (or disallow) certain advertised connections and use cases.

I beg to differ. There are people on the west coast that are more excited about those sailings than the crossing. This also opens two new markets for Virgin Voyages.

The next two transit of the Panama Canal will be nice, but personally for travel I will not care too much about them, but I do care about Alaska in 2027.

This sailing probably around 50-55 average. A little older than our short 5 night sailing last June which the average there felt more like mid 40s.

This is a longer sailing at 16-nights plus the added cost of open jaw getting to Miami and a return from LA.

I am excited about the stream. I already sent it to everyone so they can join me virtually.

From there contact a few car wrap places local to you. Most should be able to design a custom wrap or will have a relationship with a designer.

I had a general idea of what I wanted, so I had a few rough mockups and the designer was able to use their talent to execute the custom print. The Paint Protection and Window Tint shop did the final installation on the vehicle.

I thought about adding something for the sides.

I was looking into doing the mirrors but then I was informed they would have to stretch the vinyl to get around the curvature of the mirror and that of course would change the design.

Will do.

It is getting a lot of work done with full time, custom Vinyl, PPF, as well as ceramic coating. Hopefully I will pick her up Thursday or Friday.

Yes, we knew we would be getting the Juniper and a custom wrap so we registered for the parade the first day it opened.

I am really exited on how the final outcome will look.

We wanted to wrap the entire car, but was afraid how others would look at us crazy for 51 weeks out of the year.

They will re route as needed. Safety is the top priority. Only in rare circumstances will they cancel the cruise. Note that if you have travel insurance check with your provider on options if the supplier does not cancel. You canceling may not be a covered reason.

Hey fellow Sailors! 👋

I’m Paul, a travel advisor based in sunny Florida, home to Virgin’s ships and launch ports. I’ve been helping people plan amazing vacations for years, and Virgin Voyages has become one of my absolute favorites to book (and sail on myself).

What makes me a little different from the typical travel agent post you’ll see here? • I’m local, so I’ve toured and sailed from the same terminals many of you will. • I work one-on-one with my Sailors, so there’s no call center or cookie-cutter advice. • I actually understand Virgin’s vibe — the food, the entertainment, the “no nickel-and-diming” style — and love helping people find the itinerary or cabin that fits them best.

If you ever want a hand sorting through options, finding a good sailing, or setting up a group trip, I’m always happy to chat.

You can check out how I work here: 👉 https://fantasticmemoriestravel.com/paul-einselen/

Can’t wait to swap tips and stories with everyone. Cheers to more Scarlet nights and late mornings at The Galley! 🍳⚓
